Good show.
Been waiting for more seasons as well.
Was told the source material is great, but I haven't started on any of it yet.
Father Beocca has some killer one-liners.

One of my favorite shows. I believe they’re filming S3 right now. S2 came out like 10 months ago.

Season 2 isn't on Netflix, it's arguably better than season 1.

Season 1 was made by BBC like in 2015. Netflix did season 2, I think it released in Fall 2017. I haven’t heard anything about a season 3 but I sure hope they make more.

The source material is wonderful if you’re into Vikings, sword fighting, and a badass protagonist who loves to fight and isn’t hampered by a lame internal moral code.

Plus the show definitely doesn’t have the issue of being slow paced and filled with filler like many shows have. The latest season in particular was very fast paced.

Each season so far has covered two books. There are 9 or 10 books. Bernard Cornwall is prolific.

He’s writing book 11 now and hopes to have it published by the end of the year. So he took a break and still put books out two years apart. If only other, fatter, writers could keep that pace

I thought both seasons were on Netflix—that’s where I watched both of them.

I have Mexico Netflix and it only has season 1. I watched both seasons via BBC when they first aired.

This is my favorite book series and I love Uhtred, but I think it’s time to retire him. The story was concluded in Flame Bearer. Plus Uhtred is old. He’s got to be in his 60s by now

Good news—Season 3 has been officially confirmed on Instagram to air on Netflix worldwide sometime later this year (probably in the Fall) and is currently in production/filming.

So we’ll get TLK S3 like 6-8 months before GoT S8 .

The Last Kingdom on Netflix

They did a bad job picking a lead actor. Uhtred in the books was a large man.

The books are great. Uhtred has some great lines.

“Five things make a man happy,” I told him, “a good ship, a good sword, a good hound, a good horse, and a woman.” “Not a good woman?” Finan asked, amused. “They’re all good,” I said, “except when they’re not, and then they’re better than good.”

“I recalled that a man named Judas had betrayed the nailed god. That never made any sense to me. The god had to be nailed to a cross if he was to become their savior, and then the Christians blame the man who made that death possible. I thought they should worship him as a saint, but instead they revile him as a betrayer.”

“Because there could not be peace, not while two tribes shared one land. One tribe must win. Even the nailed god cannot change that truth. And I was a warrior, and in a world at war the warrior must be cruel.”

Trying not to spoil bc it was an awesome moment in the books, but the beginning of one book toyed with the idea of a new character of focus and I liked it. Unfortunately they haven't done much to build that character since and I'm not sure he will go that route.
