Lord knows we need some good news around here, so I'm delivering it...

Bryce Underwood is the "Alpha Dog" of pretty much every offseason 7v7 tournament or camp event he attends.

As the not only the top quarterback in the country but the No. 1 overall player, Underwood walks in as one of the must watch prospects. A week after lighting up the OT7 tournament in Orlando and earning the 'Alpha Dog' title for helping the Fleaux team reach the semi final round in their first tournament together, Underwood was back in the spotlight at New Jersey's Under Armour camp event.

Once again, the Tigers commit took home top honors at the event, continuing to publicly show what has made him such a consensus top player in the 2025 class across the recruiting industry. Here's the breakdown of Underwood's performance at the New Jersey camp:

"The aforementioned poor weather conditions were a major topic of discussion before any of the quarterbacks threw a single pass on the day, and most signal-callers in attendance struggled in the cold rain but the No. 1 overall player in the country proved to be a cut above the rest. Underwood was extremely precise with his ball placement throughout both his individual workout and during the abbreviated 1-on-1 session. The LSU commit seems to possess next-level awareness of when to use his lower body to drive into a throw or add touch to present an easier catch for his intended target. The only time the ball hit the ground on passes from Underwood on the day were on drops from his receivers due to the difficult conditions."

This is nothing new for Underwood, who continues to show why he's the best quarterback in the class as he ramps up his appearances at various camps and tournaments over his senior year offseason.

What was also good to see in this particular event was Underwood throwing in less than ideal conditions and having success. While the chance of rain in Death Valley is always 'Never!' for Underwood to be as under control passing the ball as he seemingly was in this event makes it all the more impressive.

While school may be winding down, the work inside the football ops building will only continue as the Tigers work on the recruiting and player development angle going into the summer.

LSU is set to bring in a lot of 2025 prospects over the next couple of months and Underwood making it down for as many of those big visit weekends would be great for the program. The purple and gold have one on May 31 that will feature multiple five-stars at their respective positions, including receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench, cornerback DJ Pickett and offensive lineman Solomon Thomas.

Continuing to make that push for the No. 1 class in America all starts with Underwood. What you've seen in recent weeks and months since his commitment is him being more of a public figure of this class, developing relationships with many of these players on the offensive side of the ball.

That should help carry over into another impressive haul for the purple and gold come the December signing period.
