Anyone ever wonders what the baseball program woulda looked like if we would hired Robichaux from ULL after Skip Retired instead of hiring Smoke?

Was talking to my friend about this yesterday. Coach Robe built the ULL program almost literally from the ground up and was a damn good coach. Only thing I wonder is if his recruiting would have been up to LSU standards. I also know that Robe loved the lafayette area and money wasn't his driving factor so I dont think he ever would have left ULL

I've met Robe personally many times (his daughter is in my wife's friend circle from HS). He was a great man and he left way to early.
All that said if you look at that hire from every angle he would have been better than what we actually got after Skip.
