He didnt finish high enough in angler of year standings last year. Or win any other of the ways to get a chance.

the way I understand it he was just outside the cut and would have had to compete in the Bassmaster Classic Bracket on Carters Lake in Georgia this past October (2018) to get in. He chose not to and effectively ended his Elite Series career and began his transition into Major League Fishing...
