Times were different back then in the '70s/'80s, chanting "go to hell" was on the edge of being questionable, and the "kick their arse" chant was also pushing the envelope. So given that landscape, there have always been those types of issues.

I don’t know how long this was going about, but I remember when I was younger they use to play tiger rag.
