Wow, some of you guys really don't know what your talking about. No way in hell would anybody give up anything higher than a 5th round pick for Mark fricking Ingram.

But Saints' fans I have a counter offer for you. Matt Elam for a second round pick? Why not? You don't want a bust for a 2nd round pick? Didn't think so..

Saints got 3rd round pick for Darren Sproles, who's a return man/third down back. He was coming off a season with 820 total yard season with 4 tds, and didn't have any explosive returns. He was 30 years old

Ingram is coming off a 1350 total yard 10 TD season. He has had 1000+ total yards the past 3 seasons, having never had more that 260 touches per season. Mark is 27.

Saints fans love to hate on Mark Ingram because he hasn't lived up to the (unrealistic) expectation that he should be a top 5 RB in the NFL since coming into the league as a first round pick, who we had to trade up to get. Mark is a top 5-10 RB in the league right now, you can debate that and call me what you want but his numbers say that. top 11-12 in most relevant stats among the position despite minimum usage, top 3 in YPC among rbs with 200+ carries last year. The trade value for RB is low so you're not going to get a premium draft pick. for anyone save a couple guys, but he's an upgrade at the position for about 1/2 the league. We also have no depth at the position, so we need him more than what we could get for him, which would be in the 2nd-3rd round range.

The Ingram hate train keeps chugging along, but he's coming off his best year ever and is in the peak years of his career. He could very easily break all the RB records fan favorite Deuce has if he stays around until 30-31.
