Usually lurk, but had to respond to part of your comment.

I agree with most of what you said. Although Vanessa has blood on her hands, she is sitting pretty with most (if not all) house guests at the moment. She is way ahead of all of the other house guests. But, Vanessa is in no way logical or poised.

Most of her instincts and gut feelings have been wrong. She is extremely paranoid, which is defined as "exhibiting or characterized by extreme and irrational fear or distrust of others." She has to make up lies, stories, and berate/question people ad nausseum until she gets an answer that she believe confirms her own paranoid reasons for putting people up.

Couple that with her: (a) refusal to back door Audrey because it would hurt the LBGT community, but yet not applying the same rationale to Jason, and (b) her continual statements that no one gets away with lying to her but yet not back footing Austin for lying to her numerous times, shows she is anything but rational.

That said, being rational isn't a requirement to win the game and right now she probably got the best shot.

I can't argue with a whole lot there.

The one big move that she made, and the one that basically has defined the direction that the season has gone in, was offering to be an ally for the twins, and bringing Shelli and Clay in on it. While the whole house was whispering about it behind their backs, Vanessa saw the opportunity to form a bond with the twins and try and help them, instead of trying to out them. At the time, while she was close to Austin and Liz/Julia, and was working on building something with Shelli and Clay, there really wasn't anything tying them all together. Vanessa saw it for the opportunity that it was, and the strongest alliance in the house was formed because of it.

In the end, Vanessa is the glue that is holding 6th Sense together, and always has been. If the other side were to ever take her out, I think the split between Shelli/Clay and Austin/Liz/Julia would probably be immediate. She is currently sitting the prettiest not only in regards to the other side, but within her own alliance as well. When they do eventually have to start going after each other, she can sit back and watch them take each other out. Her biggest risk as of right now with her own group is that she is a 3rd wheel for Shelli/Clay, Liz/Julia and Austin/Liz. But what are the chances that at least two of those duos aren't broken up at some point? Once one of those duos to get broken up, the other person will latch onto Vanessa as a final 2.

So I think she is setup pretty good right now. Her biggest threat going forward is herself. While her paranoia and overthinking has somehow worked out for her to this point, it has the very real chance of backfiring on her in the future. So if she can somehow keep that to a minimum, then she should do fine.
