I think him coming back and expanding his shooting game, ball handling, and especislly passing would greatly benefit him.

That sounds good in theory, but with Simmons coming in and hopefully Martin staying he isn't going to be asked to do those things. LSU will have him play the role of a de facto "5" on that front line. Though maybe not at an NBA level, he's much better suited to play inside than the other two.

The reality is that:
A. He's not going to grow two inches just by coming back to school and;
B. It will be difficult for him to improve upon the great numbers he has put up in his first two years

He may not be a first rounder, but his stock will likely never be any higher than it will be after this season

Why do some LSU fans let the thought of him going pro sway their minds the opposite direction just because they want him to stay for LSU's benefit. The truth is he's playing on the highest stage right now as far as college is concerned. He can definitely be a role player in the NBA. He's a hard worker, a shot blocking machine, and a team player. Take the purple and gold glasses off people and enjoy Mickey the rest of the year.

You are right. A lot of posters think another year automatically improves draft position. As you, and the next poster, pointed out, he's not going to grow, and he's not going to have the opportunity to showcase a scoring forward game.

by the same token, people arent just going to forget what he did if he does decide to come back and his numbers slip a little

shoot, playing with Ben Simmons may help his exposure. His stock isnt high to begin with, so saying "his stock will never be higher" is kinda dumb. He has a better chance of boosting it by coming back then he does of ruining it.

Someone compared him to Tyrus Thomas. Dude was a top 5 pick. That's a no brainer. Glen Davis on the other hand, came back for his JR year after winning SEC POY. So i dont think Mickey returning is totally out of the question.
