Raccoon under my house

I have a large animal under my house. I think it is between the floor insulation and the floor.
I makes alot of noise sometimes.
I have found out how he gets in but not sure when to plug the hole once he's out.
What time of year do they have babies.?
Don't what to trap them in.
any suggestions?

coon trap with fruit like apples or melons.

Coons are night time hunters so during the night might be the best time to close off the opening.
