Book It

The (2/3) human polls will split Alabama and Oklahoma St. votes with a slight edge to Alabama.... The (1/3) computer poll will have Oklahoma St over Alabama with a unanimous 2nd place ranking... all in all they will jump Alabama the last week mainly due to a win against Oklahoma that I'm predicting now

If OK State beats OU next week, they deserve the right to be manhandled in the NCG.

Some believe
OSU has to dominate
OU. I don't believe they need to. I believe OSU wins in OT and they are in.

I don't think it is safe to assume that OKST gets by OU;however, if OKST can pull out the win I agree

Bama is a better team than ok st and would crush them in a playoff game

I don't think Oklahoma State deserves it. They lost to a bad Iowa State team, Bama lost to the number 1 team in the nation, by 3, in overtime. There is no question that Bama is the number 2 team in the country. Why would we want to play anybody less? If the tables were turned, and Bama had beaten us by 3, everybody on the rant would be screaming for a rematch. Everybody knows this. Let's get past Georgia and welcome whoever comes into our second home.

been saying that for weeks.

Humans will have to decide if a Big 12 conference champ with 1 loss is better than a bama team without any hardware.

Teams that did not win their conference but made the title games are 0-2...Nebraska 01 and Oklahoma 03

Bama doesnt deserve it

It would be fricking hysterical if Bama didn't make the NC game. They don't deserve it.

I'd prefer Bama again but the OSU thing is on the horizon. I'm in the camp that thinks it would need to be a significant spread but even if not, the bigger the spread the more likelyhood (and cover it provides) for voters to vault them past Alabama. That many voters do not want an all SEC CG is reality and not, conjecture. Here's why the OSU window is open:

* 4 of the 6 computers have OSU ranked @ #2 now with Alabama #2 on only 2 of them.

* With Arkansas' loss today, OSU sits @ #3 and only has to climb 1 spot to pass Alabama @ #2.

* The 2 human polls are sufficiently close that very few OSU vote switches, combined with the computer's could very realisticly close the deal for OSU.

* Alabama is expected to win the Iron Bowl and are virtually assured to do it but, it will do little to help their own cause.

Do the math.

Assuming we beat Georgia (13), these are the teams that will have had their shot at LSU and failed:

Alabama (2)
Arkansas (3)
Oreogn (3)
West Virginia (16)
Florida (17)
Auburn (19)
Mississippi State (25)

These are the teams that will not have had a shot at us:

Virginia Tech (4)
Stanford (5)
Oklahoma State (6)
Houston (7)

The BCS was not designed to necessarily match up the two best teams. It was designed to match up the two most deserving teams. The Gumps had their shot and lost - at home. They do not deserve another chance.

Virginia Tech is in a good position to make it to the BCSNC game. They are ranked number 5 now. If they win tomorrow, they will have the benefit of playing in the ACC championship game. If they win that, they very well may steal some votes.

I'd rather Bama, but I think it's going end up being Okie State.

Beating Bama twice in one season would glorious.
