There's two ways of looking at a particular position, obviously offensively and defensively.

To me, and this is just me, your position is more closely related to who you can defend.
If you're 6'3" and under, youre a "PG". Unless you're really strong with a long wingspan like Dort, you are a mismatch for everyone on the court but PG's.

When you pose the question, what is the definition of a PG, I'd say CP3 or Haliburton, and those guys are becoming less and less frequent.
Everyone else who is tops in the league in assists are scorers first.

I think there are a few guys who could be more of a PG first scorer second like VanVleet and Dejounte Murray, but that's really b/c they aren't as good of a scorer than say Jamal Murray or Fox or SGA. I think Josh Giddey could maybe become a PG on the right team as well. Josh Giddey is really struggling off the ball with SGA. I think he needs the ball to be effective, but I also think he needs a good supporting cast with him b/c he's not a good scorer. and no i don't want Giddey.

I don't like VanVleet's $42M/yr, or his 15% trade bonus, but i would not be upset if we sent BI to Houston for VanVleet and stuff
