That's prime breakdown mileage for a VAG product. You will learn how much that car really costs over the next 70k miles.

That car is from the modern era where EVERYTHING is tightly integrated electronically. It will not be trivial to add aftermarket cruise, and could cause all sorts of other issues. Don't do it.

Factory cruise may or may not be another matter. You're not going to find a dealer that will add it for you. Baws suggesting that are still living in the 1970's.

The best option if you must keep the car is to prowl the VW forums for both Jettas and the same generation of Golf (they are mechanically and electronically identical) until you find someone who did it with junkyard parts. It may or may not be easy. Being German, I'd bet on the latter. Be careful about generations, because the Jetta has typically lagged a year or two behind the Golf for refreshes and major upgrades.
