re: Horrible Bosses/Job Stories.

Worked for a furniture store delivering furniture in the summer of my sophomore year in college.

We had a delivery to this big arse fancy in Huntsville.

I went on my first long haul delivery (over 2 hour drive) with this guy who was a typical dullard redneck. Meant well, but just an idiot .

So we carry the heavy arse entertainment center up the driveway to the living room. I told the guy “let me go grab some furniture pads so we can glide it without scratching the floor.” My coworker tried to convince me it’ll just glide no problem. We don’t need the pads. I knew it would scratch the floor so I told him, “nah let me grab the pads to be safe.” Before I know it, the idiot dragged it across this lady’s brand new wood floor scratching the ever living frick out of it for about 2 feet.

This lady had a “talk to the manager haircut” and absolutely threw a conniption fit. Deservedly so, but she went a bit far. So the guy I work with yelled back and we split out of there.

Truck broke down on the way back. We were about an hour and an half away. Company told us it would be about 6-7 hours before they could send someone out. I called my parents and they picked me up and I left that truck on the interstate. frick sitting in the 100 degree heat for 6-7 hours with no food or drink. They fired us both the next day.
