I've refused to marry women that pushed for marriage & I've never had a woman break up with me.
So much for that theory.

The reason women push for you to sign the marriage contract is for financial security.
She knows that once you sign that contract that she can leave at any time and take half of everything.
Amazes me how many guys cave and sign.
Mostly guys that can't get women and are afraid that they will never get another.
Sad.

I've always said that if she is willing to leave you forever unless you marry her, then obviously you don't mean that much to her and it was all about the money.
