I'm going out on a limb and guessing getting shite for her fake money.
But the bill was so obviously fake, she had to know it wouldn’t pass.

Her stuff and legitimate change.
My mother stopped at an ATM about 15 years ago and withdrew $100. 5- $20 bills. She then went to a convenience store and bought gas and a cup of coffee and used one of those $20 bills. It was fake. The cashier used the pen on it. Called the cops (Clayton County Georgia). Being hammers and all calls being nails they did what cops do and acted like she was a criminal mastermind and was the person who was making the counterfeit bills. After nearly an hour of having her in the back of the car she was released. She had the receipt from the ATM and the bills in question were the only ones she had in her possession. The truly infuriating part is that the bank had been aware that at least some of the cash they had on hand was not real and they continued to pass it as if it were for some reason. The police were also aware. A 70 year old woman about 5 foot tall and about 95 pounds driving a 20 year old Nissan and wearing tennis shoes about5 years old and the cops suspect her of being the master mind behind a well known counterfeiting organization....
