The LHSAA just needs to get rid of district play. The districts don't mean anything anymore. Also, with the power rankings in place, if you play a weak district you get screwed in your ranking. Just let the schools schedule whoever you want. District titles don't mean anything anymore

and who made it that way? Years of LHSAA rule changes to devalue district play in every sport

Now granted the other extreme is Texas where district play is the only thing that matters in the regular season…

The brackets are too big… drop the 28 and 24 team playoff brackets to 16 (make the regular season 11 games) with all district champions guaranteed in and placed in the bracket first to get home games and it will mean something again. You can still use the power rating system to fill in wildcards in each bracket and if there’s a few three way ties, you might be out of luck

the elite top 10% and bottom 10% would never fill out their schedules. even more so with the split - especially with upper 25% of select and non select having to likely face each their counterparts again in the playoffs.

the bottom 10-20% wouldn't get scheduled because they draw 15 people.
