Massive scam
Doesn’t save you all that much money
You’re on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars
Don’t try selling your home if you still owe money on them. Otherwise you’re gonna have to pay them off, hardy any buyer out there is willing to assume a separate loan on solar
Also, it adds zero value to your home when it comes to selling. No buyer is going to want to pay 10-20k over market value for a home with solar, when they can get one without

I have friends that were the beneficiary of this. The sellers did not disclose they were still paying for the solar panels until the title company brought it up. The seller had to eat $45k from the sales proceeds to pay off the solar panels.
Also, the solar panel contract the sellers paid for includes removal and reinstall at no charge for roof replacement.
Another friend self install solar panels on his barndominium. Not that difficult. It's basically an erector set with plug ins. The connection to the panel box is tricky and not advisable if you are not knowledgeable. He paid about $16k diy for 30 panel set up.

The part about not getting the value out when you sell is true. We bought a house with them and they are awesome but they were not even considered a positive selling point by the realtor.
