The title of the article is click-bait and very misleading.
The FDA is correct. Phenylephrine is basically useless and probably should be removed from the market.

And this statement is based on your vast pharmaceutical expertise? Whenever the FDA appoints 'advisory panels' nothing good for the consumer ever happens. Are they going to put back in the effective ingredient they took out a few years back?!?!
