Look man, I've spent the last two days in DIA. About 40% of the flight board today said cancelled and every single one of those was Southwest. It just pisses me off that everybody keeps claiming "weather" while the rest of the airline flights are leaving.

I understand your frustration, for sure. I’m having to call off work tomorrow because my two commuting flight options were canceled. That’s money directly out of my pocket. All I’m trying to convey is that there are a lot of pieces that work together to make an operation successful, and having an entire airport of ramp agents call off work can absolutely impact the operation days later.

Ramp agents don’t show up.
Planes divert while enroute.
Those pilots & flight crew are no longer available to work the remainder of their scheduled trip.
The plane they were on has to be ferried to another location, but not that one.

It really is a domino effect. There’s no sugar coating it, either. It’s a shite show & failure of epic proportions from Southwest. As you have mentioned, nobody else has been impacted this way. There should have been some foresight here, no doubt.

I hope it works out for you soon.

it pisses me off that the FAA has so many rules but allows this nonsense all the time.
