Apparently at the scrimmage, Eason threw him a 53 yard touchdown at the beginning of scrimmage and he proceeded to do a backflip. Kirby threw off his headset, ran all the way down and "went ballistic." Then, took him to the NW corner of the end zone and told him to face the wall. After a while, Wims was forced to run the stadium for the remaining 90 mins of the scrimmage in full gear while big boosters and teams watched.

Kirby reiterated to the team that shite is not going to be tolerated at all and reminded the team that stupid stuff like this cost us the UT game.

Ya I read that. shite is cold lol

But I agree, We lost a game last year due to such dumb shite. Plus doing a backflip, while it looks cool, ya thats a good way to frick up an ankle in full pads and cleats.

Not a fan of Kirby chewing the kid out like that. The guys need to have a little fun and we definitely need Wims to play big this year.

When a coach does that its just a huge bummer for the team

I get what you are saying but

They feel worse after losing a game that way, then they might have when they saw this happen yesterday

Yea I am sure Nick Saban would have turned a blind eye to that and just let them have fun. I use the same advice that was given to me whether it be sports or business. Act like you have been there before and it will be business as usual

It depends on the tone of what is going on... in the case of the first scrimmage, I think it is highly important to set a tone that this is a team, not a fricking club or a one man show. It's a team... sounds simple but is lost on too many.

Huge bummer was the way we lost to UT. One of the best plays in UGA history will now be remembered by just a few.

Seriously, imagine if we win that game...Perhaps we don't blow Vandy or UF games...and the season is completely different. It's the butterfly effect. That was VERY VERY demoralizing.

Our defense only let up 3 TDs last year of 20 yards or more and that was one of them. Seriously, different season if we win that game, stay ranked in the top 10 and move on to Vandy and Florida.

Not really, I'm sure Kirbs will do something fun at the end of camp. Coach Dooley used to take us to Lake Herrick for watermelon and he won a natty...

What needs to change is discipline, especially on the field, though an argument could be made for off the field. Specifically disciple that prevents people from doing stupid shite or look at me shite...especially look at me shite...

Ever been in a pre-season football practice? It ain't kindergarten. And you can't have loose canons running around free-lancing. DISCIPLINE.

Good. I hope he does the same thing when a defender tackles a RB after a 15 yd run and the dude on defense carries on like he just won the lottery. It bears repeating:

My dream is for a UGA team to be eaten up with intensity. Get out there. Do your job. Win the next play. Celebrate once you've actually won something.

And if you're tired from playing in the heat, then earn the right to play indoors in the Benz, in December.

CKS did the right thing. My HS coach would have grabbed us by the facemask and face-bunted us while freaking out. Then we would be running until we vomited.
Team sport, no time for show- boating. Kudos to Kirby.

One reason Chubb is a DGD. He never taunts, never cries to the ref, never celebrates excessively, always hustles back to the huddle and ready to go. Sony does a good job of this too nowadays. Nothing better then taking a big (free) shot from a LB and popping up like he barely touched you. No need to tap about how it didn't hurt or he was lucky. That attitude hurts them more then if you talk shite, cause they know it hurt you

Let me clarify, I definitely think Kirby should have reprimanded Wims but to make him stare at the wall? That's some weird/demoralizing Guantanamo Bay shite.

Also, making him run stadiums for 90 minutes? That seems to be excessive.

That's a huge confidence killer for a player we definitely need to be playing with full confidence.

Kirby should have just chewed him out and sat his arse for the rest of the game. The team would have gotten the point, Wims would have understood and he wouldn't have publicly humiliated a guy he needs this year.
