I agree, that if we don't see significant improvement, we should look elsewhere.

Not so sure you are correct here. Remember our last search for a DC? We were turned down by 3-4 other DC's. People are NOT breaking down the doors of Georgia to get in here.

Yea and Richt will make another ho hum hire and we'll continue the same song and dance

Based on what? I mean, Richt talked to Chavis, Foster and Kirby Smart the last time. They simply did not want to come here. Maybe he can get one of them this time....or another person that is just as good. But it isn't like Richt didn't try to get top notch defensive coordinator talent.

Has there been any evidense to support this other than that one comment made from our ex-player? Just curious if we know this is true or not.

This is the only time I have seen it....one ex-player said it, and someone on here reported it. It has become like a favorite Democrat tactic. Repeat it often enough, and it becomes a fact. And, it very well COULD be true. But I have only seen it said one time and then repeated.

Arguably, the circumstances surrounding a DC search this time versus last time are worlds apart.

We've already mentioned here that after WM was fired, everyone saw the writing on the wall for CMR. If the team wasn't turned around dramatically, then his time in Athens would be over, as well as any new DC that was just brought in. This is precisely the same position that Muschamp is in as he looks for an OC and an OL coach. Since we wrapped on the "3rd & Willie" era of Dawgs' defense, we've won the division twice, and it's important to understand that we'd be back in the Dome were it not for the fluke circumstances that ended the Auburn game like it had, and outright referee interference with the game being played against Vandy.

That tiny caveat aside, I still don't think that Grantham has earned 1/3 of his pay this year, especially when looking at the number of points our defense has allowed. Has it improved over the course of the season? Yes. Is it enough for me? No.
