I wonder if it turns to a "gimmick" when the fans get involved to make it a "blackout". Seems to me, if the jersey was in normal rotation, there wouldn't be a fuss about it.

According to ADGM, they became an annual fixture, beginning last year. Time and coaching not artificially assigning booga-booga (good or bad) are the only thing that can neutralize the stigma that CMR allowed to fester surrounding them.
Don't get me wrong - I love the guy and think the world of him, but he was a total pussy about the jerseys after Bama. That's all on him.

I still think a black helmet with a red G, a black jersey with red numbers and black pants with a red stripe would look good.

I've never liked the look of the Red Power G, personally. I sure as shite don't like the Halloween "Grambling" uniforms from 2009. Dear God, Almighty, the play on the field was the only thing uglier than those solid black uniforms w/ white jerseys.

I might have been, but idoesn't have to be. I like them because the look good. No other reason. Jersy's and helmets and pants do not win football games. But I do like the way those look, so I am all for wearing them......once a year.

It was fake juice the way that CMR employed them. Wearing an alternate jersey that's one of your primary colors is fine. The fact that he never argued to bring them back for 7 years afterward shows you that he bought into the superstitious nonsense.
