While I agree with you and like the black jerseys, I think alternate is meant as something out of the normal. Different from the regular uniforms. Our regular uniforms have red or white jerseys.
I consider the black jerseys as an alternate uniform, but maybe I am wrong.

It was fake juice the way that CMR employed them. Wearing an alternate jersey that's one of your primary colors is fine. The fact that he never argued to bring them back for 7 years afterward shows you that he bought into the superstitious nonsense.
I very much doubt he is superstitious. Have you seen this board, though? Look at this thread. Fans are typically superstitious.

If Kirby did not want them, we would not be wearing them. I doubt the ADGM is going to throw his weight around and start a confrontation over the color of the jerseys.
Jersey colors matters to the players and the fans. I would be shocked if there is a coach out there that gets fired up about a jersey color.

I never said McGarrity imposed them on Kirby. Quite the opposite. I would even bet that in private, he thought the stigma of the black jerseys was stupid. The best and only way to combat that is to bring them back. Against anyone, as evidenced from last year. I don't think that B-M cares one way or the other, save the opportunity to sell Blackout merch.
On some level, I think CMR let the fans extend the jersey superstition because it's easier to be stupid than to face the reality that our former HC would often choke in a clutch.

I personally think they look Bad-Assed. Who cares, let the Players decide it. Remember we even busted out Black Helmets one Year. It kinda makes the Dawgs look like,we wear whatever we want to,we've earned the Dayum Right Too. I could care less really,as long as we keep playing with the Swagger we have been...

Nothing wrong with getting the program to the point where we can win no matter what we wear. These are both bad arse looks, too...like it or not. Let the players have fun.

The top (Picture) red pants/white jersey is similar to what we wore when Herschel was here. I loved that look. They didn't have the outline on the jersey number, and the stripe on the pants was different, though.
I don't care for the red pants/red jersey look, though.

Just saw the post above.
