Some of the whiners on the staff at Dawgnation. Apparently he snapped at Chip Towers for asking a bone head question about Lorenzo Carter. I applaud Kirby,he was not hired to be a nice guy,but to win ball games, jeeze

I have told a few friends - fans from other schools - who have asked my impression of Kirby so far. I told them "There are things I don't care for about him but those are things I love about him." He isn't all warm and fuzzy. Our program is going through a major sea change and he is probably going to rub a lot of people the wrong way. For example - Kirby's "Are you kidding me?" response to the Ramsey Swim Day...That signaled to me a major difference between the old loving Richt regime and the new Bellicheck/Saban/Smart no bullshite...ever...approach to all things football. You see it in the media sessions and how little we know compared to before...I feel like there is very little news to report and that makes Chip's job harder. The new Sherriff is no f ing nonsense and if this is what it takes to be the best then we will all have to get used to it. We have always had the talent...just not the attitude...CKFS is bringing the new attitude and doesn't give a shite what the talking heads think...now I just hope he wins games.

Journalism has reached new lows in the country, good for Kirby. This is what I want in a head man.

You know, people who love him and hate him say they don't see him as warm and fuzzy, etc, but I do see him as a pretty positive person and not anything like the U sufferable douche that will Muschamp is or the the mopey Richt or the grudges get Saban. Sure, he can be short but I haven't seen him be overly rude in his shortness.

Basically what it boils down to is everybody has a different personality. If the media or fans don't understand that, then Smart isn't going to be the one worrying about it. He is his own person, and isn't going to change his ways to placate anybody. And, he shouldn't.

Richt's time began before the modern Internet that we know and love. Today it's practically a utility, not a convenience. These hacks are having to work for once to earn their bread, instead of having it spoon-fed to them by Churchy McBackflip.

Sorry accidental downvote.
I'd like to read or listen to more about my Dawgs but I'd Much Rather win games. Screw the press.

So much butt hurt in that article, it literally served no journalistic purpose other than to provide Mark Bradley with an opportunity to tell everyone that he thinks Kirby Smart is a meanie-head.

Yep. As do most of the Chip Towers articles. Emerson is starting to trend that direction a bit as well more with his tone of frustration in his interviews with DawgNation podcast.

This is the next step in the evolution... before it was the constant "after an open records request" being added to almost every article we read, whether it added context or not. Clearly, they are not taking kindly to having to work harder to do their jobs.

They loved being spoon-fed by CMR.

How many people responding so far even watched the press conference yesterday? It was a joke imo, and so I’m glad they’re pointing it out.

What's clear in the press conferences is that Smart is just carbon-copying/ripping off/imitating and trying to follow the Nick Saban script down to a T instead of being himself.

Which is fine. It’s probably even a smart and wise move. (After all, these are the same backstabbing vultures that will be picking his bones clean after slitting his throat once he inevitably makes his first mistake. Small or large.)

But, the problem with this though is that he’s NOT nick Saban. He’s A FIRST YEAR HEAD COACH that hasn’t done jack shite as one yet. And so it looks pretty bush league and comical and forced and unnecessary.

I think the press just wants Kirby to be himself instead of the lead singer of a Nick Saban cover band. And I agree with them.

See, my take on that is that while it could be construed as Kirby doing his best Saban impression, it's likely that they worked so well together because their respective MOs are more similar than they're not.

Plus, Kirby knows what works.

If Kirby is a dick to the media and calling them out (occasionally by name) all that's going to do is drive their readership and credibility up. This is great for DawgNation, the AJC, the ABH, etc.

Leave it to you to voice support for the awful chip towers and his stupid questions. You continue to be a joke on every subject.
