George Deans downtown

Idk if any of y'all have seen it but I watched a movie last week called "The Spectacular Now". It stars Miles Teller and is filmed 100% in Athens. In the movie he works at George Deans. Pretty cool to see...

And yet the whole franchise concept is to pawn this stuff off as "healthy" and "fresh". And people believe it.

It's turkey thigh meat with breast cancer causing chemicals that make it taste kind of like watery ham...

Concessions are much improved - Check. Also, Bonus point for not removing the water bottle caps
Restroom looked great - Check
No idea about the cool off stuff - didn't make it up that way
Cell service still sucks - Fail

One other thing they added was electronic boards which displayed the PA call during the game. One time it displayed Jake Ganus' name as "Gayness". Something like "Gayness with the tackle".

Also, the hype/pre-canned videos were of MUCH better quality this year, and the sound system seems to have been upgraded/fixed, which is both good and bad; good=sound quality is much improved, bad=much hearing loss will be suffered this year.

The big hardware upgrade to the soundsystem was done last year. This year was just tweaks to levels and direction. As for the selection...I seem to remember last year the opening game vs Clemson had a LOT of rap/hype music in between plays, before 3rd down, etc., but they seem like they toned it way down the rest of the season. I figured a bunch of old school and big time donors complained about that "loud rap music". I like it personally, gets the fans and players pretty rowdy. Anybody who watched the game yesterday on TV probably saw Lo Carter having a good time after a big hit, I think it was a sack or tackle for loss. Dude was was motioning for the crowd to get loud and bobbing his head all the way to the snap. For ULM

I wasn't at the game yesterday, but it sounded again like there was a lot of it. Hopefully that continues.

Well my phone stayed connected at full levels of LTE, I went in at 98% and walked out at 90% battery life since it didn't have to look for a signal or keep switching towers.

that "loud rap music"

I'd call this one a counter-productive downgrade.

Eardrum blowing jungle beats and grunting noises might make some idiots in the crowd bob their heads........but it actually reduces crowd noise and turns the Redcoat Band into an impotent novelty act. Everytime the bass and grunts stopped, the crowd was pretty much dead silent.

This was nothing as ridiculous as the group of ten white kids in short-shorts with croakies on their sunglasses standing in a circle-jerk with no women huddled on the corner of Hull and Baxter and blasting the jungle beats and "suck my dick", "frick a bitch ho ni$$a bitch suck dick" "My dick my dick suck my dick, my dick suck suck it" Dick ni$$a suck it" lyrics played at 500 decibals for all the families and mothers and grandmothers to have to endure as they walked by on their way to the stadium.

I wanted to throw a molotov cocktail into the white kid short-short wearing circle jerk..

Concessions sucked down by players entrance by 134 and thet always run out of ice. We need to stop with the volunteers and hire staff that can run a simple pos station.

Yesterday, I would believe it. I wasn't at the game, but I've been to low-key games where the guy behind the soundboard is trying everything he can to get the crowd up and nothing works. It can be embarrassing.

No way do the jungle beats quiet the crowd during a big time SEC matchup or night game. When used properly and not overdone, it is guaranteed to do the trick. And it most certainly works on the crowd. Source: Soulja Boy vs Auburn, circa 2007

Bad

-They honored some professor after the 1st quarter and mentioned his upcoming research project on "the selfie phenomenon"

I looked around afterwards to see if anyone else thought that shite was hilarious, but everyone was just either bobbing their heads or covering their ears as jungle beats and grunts cranked up.

I didn't have any problems yesterday. My biggest issue with the stadium is now and always has been the fact that the concourses and general facade look like I'm walking through a parking garage. So much concrete. The big fans were a nice addition and the sound was on point but, shite, class up the joint!

It was definitely overdone yesterday. To the point of being repetitive.

I guess the catalog of non-explicit jungle beat/grunt anthems without dick sucking references is pretty limited though. SO, they have to play the same two or three over and over.

Yeah I'm not surprised it as overdone yesterday. It was overdone during last year's opener too. That's probably a combination of the sound guy overly excited coming out of hibernation with a lot of new buttons to work with and trying to get his feet wet. Overdoing it is worse than undergoing it imo. It's gotta be used sparingly and at the right times. Straight up instrumental is fine too. They didn't play any lyrics with Soulja Boy, just the melody, and it works.

Thinking "he" blew his load yesterday. I believe this has a much greater impact when used less frequently. It wasn't even impacting the students for the most part. Less is more.

I don't care about the rest of the shite, the cell phone coverage was great!!!!

Also, I had the worst chicken sandwich in my life. I honestly don't believe it was chicken. It was unlike any other chicken I've ever had. It was inexcusable. So I got a slice of pizza and there was no marinara sauce. I lost weight yesterday on top of all the drinking I did. That shouldn't happen.

From the Chick Fil A concession?Mine was a little soggy but not bad at all.Pretty much up to CFA standard. Also,
if you had cash and just wanted the sandwich they got you in and out in a hurry.

Wasn't gonna touch anything Subway had to offer.
