Because he is reliable year in year out.

I understand what you are saying and how you feel, but if reliability was the only criteria, i would have won the Heisman. No, I didn't come close!

the guy has 2 nattys.

Were the Nattys won because of his efforts, or because of all the talent around him? In other words, would Alabama have won the Nattys without McCarron?

And just because Oregon lost 2 games doesn't necessarily mean their QB should be taken off the list imo

I agree, here. He should definitely still be in the running. The Heisman is an individual award, not a team award.

Don't misunderstand me...I like McCarron. He ran the offense very well. But I would not call him the best player in the country. I mean, using the Natty argument, you would also have to invite every Alabama player that played on those teams.

Just sit there and look happy for Winston when he wins

Pretty sure they got the memo already...

I don't get why you think the Heisman is a credible award, it has been a crock of shite for years.

When Jason White (OU QB) won over Larry Fitzgerald in 2003 they shed the small amount of credibility that the award had left.

Winston is the runaway winner without a doubt... The thing that aggravates me is that there's 3 SEC players outta the five invited to NY & 1 of them isn't AM. He & A.J. should both be there just to highlight what they've done over the last 4 years. JMO...

Bernie gets it...

ow ok, so we have a pretty much 100% against my choice of Heisman.

That's our opinion. Doesn't mean you have to change yours.

Go ahead and tell all the other guys that its already decided.

Just because most on here believe it should go to a certain player does not mean that they should not give it to a player. MOST years there is a clear cut favorite, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't give the award, does it?

If it's my vote, I'm voting McCarron

And that's fine. Everybody has an opinion, and they have a right to their opinion.

Ok. They're idiots. What's next? Pat White should have won the Heisman for being a great QB for West Virginia and leading their program to unprecedented heights (and by the way, White did more for WVU than McCarron did for Alabama)? No. The Heisman is the most outstanding player in a given SEASON, not for having a good career.

How many times has Alabama asked McCarron to put the team on his back and win a game? I can think of one, and that is aTm this season. FSU returned the same roster as last season except for losing EJ Manuel in the first round of last year's draft and replaced him with Winston. Compare last year's FSU team to this year's FSU team and the only huge difference is QB, where Winston is much, much better than Manuel. McCarron is a caretaker while Winston is a playmaker.

I just assumed AJ was "in the running" to honor his achievements at Bama over his career, with the understanding that he really isn't going to get it over others like Winston.

And this is exactly why the Heisman has become just a fricking joke award ... why even nominate the guy if you REALLY don't think he deserves it?

Because when humans are involved, stupid things happen.

It's really just a popularity contest. What they aught to do is make the winner the one with the most front page appearances in the sports rags.

I get that McCarron is one of the top players, but most outstanding player in the nation?

You look better as a 'game-manager' when you have elite athletes making plays on ST and defense that consistently put you in good field position. they make a good player in McCarron look great.

MOP would still have to be Johnny. Jameis wouldn't produce the same numbers as JM if he did had the TAMU defense.

Is he the BEST player in america THIS year,

Now days you dont have to be, been that way for quite a few years now.
The best player doesnt always go to a major bowl or even play for a N.C. But yet he sometimes doesnt win

Winston is the one playing for a MNC and he's the one who is an obvious standout on his team with a stellar performance this season

And there it is, its because hes playing for an N.C.
Which is bullshite. Im not saying that McCarron should win, but just because you play for an N.C doesnt mean you should win either. Its suppose to be for the best player, so I dont know just how you can pull 4 or 5 guys out and say, Hey its one of you or its you because you will play for a N.C
