No he isn't going to take a 33rd round contract. Believe me.

He's been talking to Jeff Driskel. Get it while the getting is good.

He will play both at UGA instead.

I can't imagine playing two college sports.

What kind of contract and bonus could Godwin expect given where he was drafted?

His contract would probably be ~$30K a year and a $1,000 or less signing bonus.

Then he should emulate Deion Sanders and play both sports in college. Professionalism can wait.

I would assume many teams shied away from drafting him since he's signed his LOI and he's also has a bit more leverage than others drafted that low.

He'll get offered substantially more than a typical low round draft pick and I would assume they'll kick in an offer to pay for college as well.

Still doubt he goes but wouldn't dismiss the possibility.

Probably. I had a buddy who was taken in the 35th round who had a 200k contract though. There was other stuff going on but nevertheless

$1,000 signing bonus? Not witH the leverage he has with FB...signing bonus offer will at least be 75k and a spiff for a college education. Not sure about the 30K
salary...doubt rookie league guys make that much.

Didn't someone say that he's not even any good at baseball? Was that on here?

bullshite. I've had 2 relatives selected waaaay higher with less than that and those contracts come nowhere neeeear that. No one in the 35th round even comes close to that money or going directly to AAA (where most don't make $200k)

Even if his dad was the supplier of PHDs to the pro club, they wouldn't risk the exposure of giving a 35th rounder $200k

I just checked.

Drafted in the 36th round (1102nd overall) by the Boston Red Sox in 2008 (signed for $135,000)

Probably closer to the real amount. Although, with a $100,000 limit on signing bonus for anything after the 10th round and the bonus allotment per team, I still doubt they would be paying out the max to a 35th round pick.

So your telling me he received $100,000 signing bonus and made $35,000 per year?

I don't remember that but I remember seeing that Perfect Game didn't have him ranked high if at all.
