You know what you're getting with Golson. You are going into the unknown with Bauta, Ramsey.

I have a feeling this year is going to be a very painful one for Dawg fans. Everytime Ramsey has played he shows off remarkable zip on his arm. He also couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on half of his throws and most of those go into coverage. If he ends up as our starter as I suspect he will. We are going to miss Huston Mason who was probably the worst qb that has started for us since The Joe's.

Regardless of what happens, I just take it as another sign of the "Culture change" going on in Athens since Dec. of last year when Jere neutered McGarity & tole him to shite or get offa the pot & give CMR, CJP & Co. whatever they need to catch up in the SEC arms race...

12 months ago this would not even be a discussion cause EG would've been told to not even visit... "we're not interested".

That we're even taking a look at the kid just shows that we are looking outside the old "Georgia way" box & exploring opportunities that might help us win. I don't see us bringing him in, but if we do I'm pretty confident that the coaches know what they're doing & I'll support them...

You're right... Everett Golson gives gives UGA the opportunity to win now. Those who think otherwise aren't even worth debating with.

This^^^

If he can come in and help us beat USCe, Bama, UF, or whomever I'm all for it. He doesn't necessarily have to be the starter. Running the zone read with Chubb would be incredibly difficult to stop.

I'm not sure why some on here are so concerned with hurting feelings.

Name of the game is to acquire as much talent as you can and put it to use the best way possible.

Golson doesn't run the zone read. In fact he hates the zone read and he would much rather fumble the ball or throw an interception.

The Golson lovers are crazy.

Yes , I'm sure you're right about this. His plan every time he runs the zone read is to turn the ball over.

Quick, without Google, name another ND skill player. That was the biggest problem there. They put way too much on Golson and had zero help around him.

Golson is only interested in the NFL and that is why he wants to show that he can be effective in a pro style offense. People who expect Golson to go somewhere and run zone read just haven't been paying attention.

Ramsey, Bauta and Park know the system and any of the three can be very successful. There is no need to upset the apple cart in favor of a QB who has no interest in ball security.

Whoever starts this season is nothing but a place holder for Eason, anyways. Golson's ball security was better in 2012 when they didn't ask him to put the entire team on his shoulders like they did in 2014. Georgia wouldn't ask him to carry the load (that's what we have Chubb for), but to occasionally make plays downfield (something Mason didn't do well) and move the chains when necessary.

My point: Golson could be very good when he isn't asked to put the entire team on his back every single weekend.

The people who disagree with this are just trying not to get their hopes up for when he chooses FSU.
