We owe him for being a fine, Christian man,
That's the underlying issue with everyone of these hold outs. By turning our back on Richt, we have symbolically turned our back on Christ himself. Believe me. Trust me. They will deny it....but it's there.

Couldn't agree with you two more. He doesn't owe us anything like "letting us" have Eason and we sure as shite don't owe him a damn thing.
This thread and other people arguing either way are friggin killing me.

Well I see your point , "owe" is probably too strong. But saying we should "respect" him for pulling us out of the hole we were in is not

I think we can all agree on this point. The early years of Richt had some excitement to them...a sense of relevancy. I miss that.

I wasn't the one who said he was being unchristian , and a liar, and a back stabbed going after Eason. I said his responsibility is too do what's best for Miami. Just like Kirby should bring in who he thinks is best including , I hope, is Eason. But some in here just want to hate. Richt is gone just like everyone wanted, why can't they just let him be gone. Why keep hating?

There are still some haters, but I think most logical people see it for what it is...
... And I am a tad surprised that he took the UM job so quickly... Makes me wonder. Not saying he didn't have a right to get another job after being fired... But it makes me wonder...

Maybe Richt isn't quite so much the "good Christian man" as some thought?
Has anyone ever wore that shite on their sleeve like Richt does who was a "good christian man"? In my experience anyone who references their faith as much as Richt does is doing so because they are using it as capital and not because they actually believe in any of the shite they are espousing.
I would fully expect Richt to do what he did at UGA....a mediocre job where he came close to competing but for the most part just couldn't get out of the way of his own complacency....

I honestly thought he'd take the year off. Surprising timing, but not a surprising destination for him. I wish him the best.

You have to assume this job was always in play for CMR. If he didn't jump now he may have missed his window.

So if Eason bails, can we flip another QB or has that ship sailed? I would hate to watch Lambert for another year.

Still plenty of time before NSD. I'm sure we'd land a solid commit given the situation at QB.

Bailey Hockman is committed for 2017.
Maybe go another transfer or Juco route as well.
Unless , and I hate to say it Lane Kiffin comes. The current guys just don't seem to have the talent.

I'd love to have the kid obviously but my potential emotional investment in UGA football will not be held hostage by him. He will make the decision he feels is best for him, as he should, but we will be just fine no matter that decision.

Everyone needs to pump the brakes a little. The kid fell in love with UGA and Athens. Richt was just the icing. The new staff will get last pass and every opportunity to solidify that. The only way he isn't a Dawg is if we make the move to the triple option.
