Eason, has made it clear that he wanted to play for Matk Richt.
If Richt was not there he would have to evaluate.
The problem is none of you much less GM had the foresight to realize that CMR would be the hottest prospect and have a job faster than we got a new coach.

You all assumed he would retire and go do mission work , he's 55. When Saban was 55 he was coaching the Dolphins. Mark Richt was never done coaching. Everyone assumed that Eason would have to make a decision if UGA was bringing in a system he wanted to play in, never realizing he may have the chance to play for who he wants to play for. And now your pissed.

Not pissed, stoked Richt is no longer coaching at UGA. History tells us, we wouldn't have done anything with Richt and Eason anyways. We didn't lose anything IMO. Glad Richt's gone.

I want to say that what he actually said was that he was committed to the school, not to a coach. But that was a couple of months ago.

I will also remind everyone that Richt had the opportunity to steal Chris Rix from FSU when he was headed to UGA but he specifically stated that he had recruited him to FSU and chose not to do that as it would have been underhanded.

No one knew at the time that Rix would turn out to be a walking snoozefest at QB, everyone thought he was the second coming. Richt didn't weasel him away then, and I don't expect him to do it to Eason now.

If Eason signs with Miami, it will be because HE chose to go to Miami for Richt, not because Richt stole him.

I don't really care about not getting Eason except that we MUST now get A QB in this class if we lose Eason and QB is a very difficult position to start on this late in the game. Those guys usually already know where they are going by now.

Miami is a shite show and will be a blemish on CMR's record. The "West Coast redneck" who loves UGA isn't going to South Beach to play for a private high school who's stadium is about the same distance as ATL to Athens from the UM campus.

We may lose Eason, but it won't be to Miami

You're full of shite. Most folks realized that a Richt departure would put Eason at risk. No one assumed Richt would hang up his coaching shoes, but rather he would be a hot commodity at many schools that hunger for a winning record. Good for him and Godspeed. If Eason wants to go with him, I wish him well too.

But the fact is, and I won't dwell on this, someone (boosters) finally decided they wanted more than 8 to 10 wins, a middling bowl, and no championships in the East and SEC much less nationally.

Now it may be worse and the bar is high, but thank God we are finally grasping at the brass ring rather than sitting on our hands.

It sounds like you are more a fan of Richt than of Georgia. That's been the calling card of a certain contingent that wanted Richt to remain at UGA forever...even if he never again won anything of significance. And unfortunately, he hadn't won anything of significance in the last 10 years, yet he was getting paid big money to do so.

Maybe in the ACC, he'll be in a better situation. And...you can always join a Hurricanes board and start donating to the U!

First I'm a Dawg fan. Been a dawg fan since I was 8, sitting in Wthens watching HW run wild on TxAm and GT, sitting in Jax watching the stadium fall down and LS from nearby Jesup take it to the house.

As I have already stated, the relationship had gotten stale. It looked like CMR as overtime just as much as we were with him. 15 years is a long time to be at one school.
But that doesn't mean I can't be happy for him. UGA owes him a lot. I sat and suffered through the Goff and Donnan years. And we are a better program now than when he got here.

I just can't see why some of you are still bashing on him. He's gone. He's no different than any other coach. UF is going after Eason, your not slamming JM for trying to kick us when we are down. CMR is the coach of Miami, he should try to get the best players he can. But some of just keep going off on CMR, why you don't have to worry about him anymore, he's not calling the shots for the Dawgs anymore, why keep kicking. It's because some of you just hate him. Which to the rest of us who still respect and like
Richt and to the rest of coolege fooball, shows your just petty and the worst side of this sport. Be a fan of your team, but why hate?

He's not stabbing anyone in the back.He was fired. He didn't leave UGA on his own and try to sneak off with Eason.

First of all , had seasons aid he would make a visit?
It's all speculation.

Second, aren't you expecting KS to bring in Bama recruits ?
I am.

He's not stabbing anyone in the back, no NOIs have been signed, every player out there is available. Some guys just aren't happy if you aren't complaining. It's kinda sad.

(Edit , sort of mis read your post, I agree he is not stabbing anyone in the back)

Ain't a single person on this board that would be upset if Kirby Smart poached a few Bammer recruits and brought them to Athens.

Man....give it a rest, would you? You got your way. Richt is gone. Now go sit in the corner and hope and pray it works out.

Absolutely. And, in fact...most are counting on it.

I think Richt could make it to the playoffs at UM. They have their own red tape, but he may find that their admin will be easier to work with and he won't need quite the depth team wise to win there.

I take issue with this. UGA owes him nothing more than what was contractually bound. The rest is gravy. The "owing" mentality is what causes teams to keep folk around beyond his/her usefulness.

Maybe Richt isn't quite so much the "good Christian man" as some thought?

What has getting Eason visiting Miami got to do with Richt being a Christian?

quote:

After all, hasn't Eason signed his paperwork

Financial Aid paperwok. And that allows him to accept unlimited contact from the school he signs them with. He can still sign with any school of his choice.

I think we can appreciate a lot for what Richt did... But the motherfricker made $25 Million in 15 years... He hasn't been sucking dick for beer money .... We don't "owe" him
