Protocol: UGA submits report, NCAA reviews report, UGA submits request for reinstatement.

McGarity is far from incompetent. He spent years in the Florida athletic department under Foley, who is a damn good AD and would have canned his arse if he were dumb. What this means, basically, is that we shouldn't expect to see Gurley in uniform any time soon.

If I'm understanding protocol right, Georgia has already sent the NCAA their report and the NCAA has already ruled. If that's true, you're probably right that this is worse than we thought.

Radi said they expect 2 games which is why they didn't submit a request for reinstatement. If the NCAA eventually rules a one game suspension UGA would look like clowns.

Which means they were able to quantify exactly how much Gurley received, so they already know what the punishment is. Therefore, there is no reason to ask for a one game suspension...because they know he will need to sit out more than one game based on their findings.

Why would our athletic department waste time asking for a one game suspension and look like a bunch of retards when they already know he needs to sit out for at least two?

Pretty much this. By the looks of it, they know what the suspension will be.

If we have finished our investigation and it's 2 games, I don't understand why we can't just announce Gurley's status for Saturday.

Yea if we know how it's gonna be, it does seem like itd be easier to just get it done with and announce it and move on. I know it's more complicated than that and there's stuff we don't know, but still

Is McGarity an undercover Gator? Did McGarity put Brian Allen up to his nefarious and illegal actions against Gurley? Is UGA forever screwed?

That's the thing. It doesn't look like we have. Just based on what we know so far, the 2 seems likely. Also, Gurley's lawyer has to do some investigating as well, that could be slowing this down too.

Cam Newton was reinstated by NCAA in 8 minutes, so I guess there's an outside chance Gurley could still play at Arkansas

Calm down everyone. The secretary typing up the report is still using a manual typewriter so it takes longer. The new computer is in the IPF budget so things will be quicker next time. Maybe Gurley will come back next year so she can try it out.

You have no idea how close to home this hits for UGA (the school as a whole, not specifically the UGAA)...

Yeah, but when that happened, the guy who is now Auburn's compliance director was the head of the NCAA's enforcement department.
