Agree, UGA HAS to beat Mizzou. I say it's a tossup game, with a 3-4 point win by either team. Say...31-27.

We have conflicting things going on. In part, we want HM to be AM. I am guilty of this.

Also, we want him to be more aggressive but not have turnovers. Also a conflict.

We need to settle on a happy place that is game manager (whatever that means) but actually makes some attempts down the field.

We shoudln't want him to be Murray because that's simply not who he is. Just like we don't expect Conley to be AJ Green.

We need him to be a David Greene, someone who isn't going to rack up stats but won't turn it over and move the chains. Maybe a Joe Cox just without the turnovers. Even though he's fallen off some, Mason is still completing 68% of his passes with 7 TDs and 3 INT. Also we're currently 6th nationally I believe in scoring offense, so we're doing something right.

Honestly I'd be happy if we just threw it downfield 3 or 4 more times a game than we are now.

Agree, nice post. Objectively, Missouri has not been any more impressive than Georgia. Mauk has not developed into the magical QB he appeared to be last season. However, he has 4.5 speed and I am worried about our ability to contain him on impromptu plays. Still, I think we have roughly a 50% chance to win Saturday. I am a lot less confident about the Auburn game. Auburn has a lot more balanced offense this season and their 2 wideouts are badass. But as you aptly point out, even if we lose to Auburn and beat Missouri, we should still be in the driver's seat for the East.

Please, don't let Ramsey throw the ball Saturday. I've never seen a Georgia QB who's throws are as wild as Ramsey's. Mason has good accuracy and anticipation. Mason was a record-setting passer in high school. In high school Ramsey almost never passed.

I think Mason's accuracy is better because he doesn't gun it to his receivers. That's great as long as it doesn't stay in the air long enough for defenders to make a play.

Ramsey Jr and Sr HS Passing Stats:

JR 80 for 125 1,308 yards 17 TDs 2 INT
SR 75 for 137 1,396 yards 19 TDs 3 INT

Ave per game, 100.6 and 107.4, long of 58 and 74, respectively.

And this at a South GA school known for running the ball.

Not including Troy because they are one of the worst teams in America, UGA has brought their A+ game for exactly two quarters this season (second half vs Clemson). Dawgs need to bring it this weekend if there's any hope left for a playoff spot.
