I downloaded "MP3 Rocket" on my PC about 5 years ago and paid $19 for the pro version upgrade one time and have used it since (saved it to a thumb drive so can put on any PC I want). It pulls everything from YouTube and converts it to MP3 for you at whatever bitrate you choose and allows you to edit the start and stop times as well as some other unique features.

You can download movies and audiobooks and other random things too. It also has a built in feature that you can turn on that automatically adds whatever you downloaded straight to your iTunes. No monthly fees and no 3rd party program required to listen to anything.

It's essentially a torrent downloader that auto-converts to your chosen format and bitrate wrapped up in a decent interface package, and has good security too.

BTW, do you drive a jeep with a Squatch tag? If so I saw you today on 75.

Squatch, I believe that if they awarded Grammys for category of "Best Playlist Creator" that I could be in contention.....

Give me a scenario, any scenario, and I'll provide you, free of charge, the perfect Spotify playlist to enhance the experience.

Examples: tailgate pre or post-game, horse-shoe throwing, overnight whole hog cook, Sunday Morning, driving to go buy a pumpkin, anything, etc.

Just pick a scenario, and I'll then ask a few screening questions to fine-tune it.

What do ya got?

I know this wasn't directed to me, but as someone who prides himself on playlist perfection I'd love a crack at this.

Here's the scenario:
Tailgate before a 3:30 kickoff vs. Bama on October 3rd. My group consists of five couples, a few small children and a few other random acquaintances. We are majority UGA fans but a few high school friends who "don't test well" and went to Tuscaloosa are also present. The weather is crisp at 10AM and we are on the Myers quad.

Go!

Dawg from Beaumont, I thank you for the opportunity to subconsciously control the pre-game moods and emotions of you and your guests by way of play-list at your upcoming tailgate. I take this Responsibilty very seriously and won't let you down.

Just a few more questions first though..........

-Is your tailgate typically an insular community or do you openly invite any any all random passers by to share in your bounty/space?
-Do you find yourself getting nostalgic often when listening to music?
-Are the fixins at your tailgate homemade or store-bought?
-Will your beer be mostly canned or bottled?
-What is the average distance in inches from the top of boots to bottom of skirt for the women attending your tailgate?
-What was the moon phase on the day of your birth (if you know it)?

1-Mostly insular, but we are generous with sharing space
2-Yes, very much
3-Predominantly homemade
4-Predominantly canned
5-10 inches
6-Waning Gibbous

Alright...I appreciate the offer. Here's the scenario -

8:30 pm...kids are in bed and it's dusk. Sitting on the screened porch..katydids and frogs singing. Glass of Woodford on the rocks with a splash of water...firing up a good cigar.

Looking to put on a serious chill here but something with a guitar focus...bluesy...jazzy...jam band...it's all on the table.

TIA. Go!

I wouldn't want to ruin that with man made sound.

Music is for moments in between those moments, to remind us of those moments.

I'd let the katydids sing and watch the lightning bugs.

And maybe put on Lightin Bug by Louisiana Red...

I get what you're saying but we've got a lot of trees in the back and the katydids will drive you nuts on their own...

We might be neighbors. I have a lake off my back yard. It's pretty loud out there right now. I have 2 Bose speakers on my upper deck that I run off of Pandora (free). I smoke stogies out there weekly. Turn the Bose down to 3 (they go to 11). Me, liquor, nature, cigar, Pandora. I hope Heaven's like that.

BLUF: I run a blog at LINK . I convert my vinyl record collection to digital media and provide the results online. Here's a quick how-to: LINK / That's the short of it.

Those of you that will indulge me in a longer story... I was a mobile DJ in SW GA for over 20 years. My blog concentrates on dance/R&B music from the 80s with some pop, rock and country mixed in. It's mostly out of print vinyl stuff that may never see the light of day as digital media. I'd love for any Dog fans to visit there and help yourself to anything that interests you. The 27th of this month will mark 5 years that I've been doing this, there's a lot of records there. And, if you feel so inclined, hit my FB page and give it a Like: LINK . Thanks.

Jerry Garcia and Howard Wales - Space Funk from Side Trips Vol 1

Grateful Dead - Eyes of the World 9.3.77

Grateful Dead - Brown Eyed Women 5.8.77

If you are into stuff like that, there's almost an endless supply of similar stuff online for free (legally too). Hard to beat '73 or '77 Dead when it comes to just kicking back and relaxing.

Govt Mule - Banks of the Deep End - much more bluesy and southern rock oriented

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - Sinister Minister no guitar but if you like the banjo Bela Fleck has a ton of music to explore, his skill on the banjo is unreal.

And of course the duet of Warren G and Kenny G can't be forgotten Regulate
