Are you going on record to say "the people" are over analyzing that quote?

Seems like he was rambling about stats being skewed due to non reporting of infection. I can not read into it as hard as I try and find it meaning Trump wants people to go to work if they are sick. Trump says a lot off odd and stupid shite, yet, low operating people still have a need to make shite up... and they really don’t even have to with Trump... but they do.

I’m normally pretty flippant around here but I’d encourage everyone to take this seriously as exponential curve and doubling time are worrisome. Right now is a good time to stock a few weeks worth of supplies. This is a slow moving hurricane coming our way but that could and probably will change in next few weeks.

More worrisome than the other viruses and bacteria out there already? Give me a fricking break. Already saying the death rate on this thing is going to be .01-.1%. If you get sick, treat it like the seasonal flu. Drink a shitload of water/electrolytes, rest and don’t go out. Simple shite. This thing is a Panicdemic is all

I really hope this is just people hoarding and not an indication that people don't generally wash/disinfect their hands.

The truth is in the middle. You’d be surprised how many grown men use the bathroom and just walk out.

The Floyd County case is going to be an issue. Supposedly, the woman in question went in for testing and the hospital told her she didn’t have it and not to worry. So after a week of being out and about and getting worse, she goes back in, they actually test her and she gets the positive result. People I know in Rome are freaking out

Ask the people in Rome if they’ve ever had a cold or the flu before...then tell them to stop panicdemicing

Bringing the quote back to this page since I'm on my phone and need to reference while I type.

quote:

“A lot of people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor, they don’t even call a doctor. You never hear about those people,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “So you can’t put them down in the category of the overall population in terms of this corona flu and or virus. So you just can’t do that. So, if you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work. Some of them go to work, but they get better.

I agree with you on the first half there. He's definitely referencing the discrepancy with the denominator in the death rate, which is fair.

The bolded part is where he made a misstep IMO. As I said, I don't think it's the same as what was accused here, but that doesn't make it good either.

Whether it's a recommendation in your mind or not really doesn't matter. It's normalizing what is generally bad advice in the face of any potentially rapid spreading disease. Will people go to work sick? Absolutely... But it is the job of the POTUS to speak from that position of power with respect for the power that it wields. So maybe don't trivialize that poor behavior.

Speaking for myself, I’m less concerned about myself getting sick and more concerned about my young kid. I’m a healthy adult, I’ll be fine.
