Ha! Nice try, but no. I'm a patriot who's tired of devils running my country into the ground. Lot of lemmings on this board, though. Keep living behind the veil.

We are the U.S.

Geneva Convention was all about just this same thing after WWII. Nothing "liberal" about wanting to abid by the spirit of what this nation stands for.

Bet you kick arse on the WWII video games ...

And if you served our country by defending our nation and national interests - thanks. But please refrain from using that (perhaps) fact to make a sensible point about this subject

You're alright in my book, I don't care what Christopher says about you.

Im ok with getting information through whatever means necessary if someone has it and it'll protect American troops/citizens.

My big problem is I don't trust the people making the decisions (our government) and that obviously makes the whole situation complicated.

But I could go on a whole rant about how they continuously grab more and more power (both parties) and most people don't seem to care. That's a whole other topic for another day

The thing is that we aren't getting much or any valuable information by using EITs. From the report:

quote:

Summary: The CIA represented that its enhanced inteiTOgation techniques were effective and produced critical, otherwise unavailable intelligence, which
thwarted plots and saved lives. Over a period of years, the CIA provided the identification, discovery, capture, and arrest of Sajid Badat as evidence for the effectiveness of the CIA's enhanced interrogation techniques. These representations were inaccurate. U.K. domestic investigative efforts, reporting from foreign intelligence services, international law enforcement efforts, and U.S. military reporting resulted in the identification and arrest of Sajid Badat.

Yea, I'm honestly not up to date on it enough to have an intelligent conversation about it because I haven't read the new stuff that has come out.

But yea I'm sure there is a factor that people tell the captor what they think they want to hear to get the interrogation to stop.

Also, without having read the report, I wonder if there's information they got that isn't included in there due to the sensitivity of it.

You can bet that this was politically motivated.

You're exactly right. Again, from the report:

quote:

On June 22, 2003, CIA interrogators reported that "[KSM] nervously explained to his debriefer that he was under 'enhanced measures' when he made these claims" about terrorist recruitment in Montana, and "simply told his interrogators what he thought tliey wanted to hear."'^^^ ACIA Headquarters response cable stated that the CIA's ALECStation believed KSM's fabrication claims were "another resistance/manipulation ploy" and characterized KSM's contention that he "felt 'forced' to make admissions" under enhanced interrogation techniques as "convenientexcuses." As a result,ALEC Station urged CIA officers at the detention site to get KSM to reveal "who is the key contact person in Montana?"^^®^ By June 30, 2005, ALEC Station had concluded that KSM's reporting about African American Muslims in Montana was "an outright fabrication."

Did you guys read the rebuttal on the WSJ? I don't trust the report released by the arena because they're pussies and liars.

I will say that regarding KSM, I'm fine if he's in a dark hole getting disassembled with pliers. As long as it's slow and lasts a couple of years.

The bigger question is the validity of said report and what political reason(s) are the dems using and just why was it released? Was it due to the whipping they received at the polls and are acting like little kids (very much like our illustrious so-called prez) and lashing out? Or, is this coming from the White House for some unknown reason? Is it to take our attention away from something else - like immigration? Or is there some colossal frick up that shithead has done and he is using this to hide/embarrass/whatever??

In all fairness, he's been considered as such by plenty of people

ETA: I see you edited to add others.

I think part of it is the ongoing pissing match between the senate and the CIA too rather than just one party doing it. But I do think the Dems like bringing it out to look bad on the GOP (because it's basically been attached to the GOP/Bush which is bullshite because they've all supported various things like this) while conveniently ignoring that Obama hasn't stopped most of the practices he promised to.

Justice for the families of 9/11. Having to hear their loved ones say "I love you and I'm not coming home" or witnessing the horrifying tragedy of people leaping to their deaths on that tragic day... Watching those fricking scumbags celebrate the attacks as they burned our American flag... Celebrating in a manner as if they won a World Cup to some sense... Whether guilty or not, they deserved every minute of what they endured... Whether apart of the attacks or not, they were supporters... They'll burn in hell... Too bad no decapitation wasn't on the table... Would have loved to send their remains via Fed Ex to their families to show our respect.

I feel like your time could be better spent on things besides figuring out how the "liberal agenda" is going to get you and destroy life as you know it.
