Only 1 commit for Dawg night? Are we expecting more or is the camp over?

Most everyone is still here this morning. FWIW, the huge DT committed to Bama Natori Johnson now says his commitment is shaky after last night

There's some people bitching over on 247 about this weekend being a failure because we've only had one commit so far. Some people man....some people

People will bitch about anything.

I'm a little surprised another didn't pull the trigger last night. But I also don't think it's over. Lets see how today goes.

Unfortunately a bunch of the idiots that cluttered up Rivals boards have drifted over to 24/7 and have really brought it down some recently. You still get the best coverage from Rusty/Jake/Kipp and all they do is complain.

Last night was unlike anything UGA has ever done or seen before. It was the largest assemblage of recruiting talent ever for this program and I think they managed it pretty well considering. There were a ton of positive things being tweeted out and said about the experience and it says something when you're expecting about 153 guys for the night session and seven-fricking-hundred show up. Kids want to be here. Let the coaches sort through the aftermath and we'll see who is left standing by tonight.

ETA: Look at this scene

I thought Natori was an OT?

You're right, OT. I was thinking Kendell Jones who is also a massive human being and has wild hair color.

Dude, I saw Natori at the AU camp. He moves well for a man his size. He does play some DT for Cedar Grove.

I think the size of the camp made it nearly impossible for any recruit to really commit. Size isn't always the best and I kinda think it hurt UGA sort of, this weekend.

We're also getting an official from...

Terrance Davis (Hyattsville, Mary./DeMatha Catholic), the No. 2 offensive guard in the country per the 247Sports Composite
after his night last night...

Word is we solidified our position with...

Sounds like we dropped the ball with Carlin Fils-aime but I guess if there was a frick-up last night this is prollyb the position to have it at...

The AjC wrote another article saying the QB in 2018 I think his name is Trevor Lawerence was disappointed he didn't get an offer either. I watched his highlights and he looked good for his age. We really need to get a RB tho I was hoping Holyfield would have pulled the trigger

Seems like were more focused on Holyfield. Get him this year and Mcfarland and Sermon next year and ill be thrilled.

I think that while this year may not have resulted in the mass committing were used to, thats not entirely a bad thing. For one, UGA is clearly a hot commodity. Not only did all those top guys we knew of show up and stay a while, so too did a ton of guys we werent expecting. For another, this wasnt really an event that was ever going to allow for the typical commit thing to happen. This was essentially more of a mega football party than a camp. UGA didnt plan it that way but thats what it grew itself into. For all the lack of one on one time with coaches we would have liked, the scene last night made UGA out to be a popular place. Thats going to carry a lot of weight when OVs are being scheduled.

I think there are a couple of reasons Lawrence hasnt been offered:

1. Dont scare off Hockman with his replacement this early
2. Lawrence has played 1 year in high school.
3. Thats 3 more years you have to keep this kid committed. He hasnt hardly had time or experience enough to visit other places and make an informed decision.

Its just early

Yea I was really just commenting about the AJC crapping on us for not offering these two. With all the good that came out of last night they wrote those two articles. But I do get what you are saying.

I thought Carlin Fils-aime already had an offer. Carlin was unhappy about no face time with Richt. Maybe we need to clone our coaches if such masses of great athletes all show up at the same time. Either that or get Helen Hunt to stand in for Richt.
