I think one reason people find Nazism more repulsive is because the Nazis sought to eradicate people on the basis of ethnicity, something you can't change.

Probably also has something to do with which ethnicity was targeted in that deal.

The U.S. tried to eradicate native Americans based on their ethnicity, but native Americans don't have positions of power in every single corridor of the global stage like Jews do. so there's a lot less waving of the bloody shirt on that one.

Well that's the trick right? The reason that it didn't deliver as promised is "the last guy didn't do it right" but then the next one does the same thing and ruins the lives or kills of millions of people. Remember the socialist utopia of Venezuela? They're probably eating their pets now to survive.

You can't overthrow and control a government without a core power group.

Stalin had the NYT, Hollywood, and half of Frank the Cripple's and Truman's administrations covering for him, or he would have been.

Hirohito/Tojo probably merit mention, too.

A rally to present speeches should probably get better spin than riots and attempted murders, yeah. Let people present their ideas to the public and let the public determine the merits.

While the so-called Marxist/Communist regimes certainly killed more people than Germany, it seems less sinister because they killed people on the basis of political belief, which is malleable.

The Reds whacked people based on nationality, ethnicity, adn religion, too. They were very much equal-opportunity murderers. They just got: (1) much less attention about it; and (2) more favorable press when it was covered (see, e.g., Walter Duranty).

Doubt the majority of the public is impressed by the merits of the "ideas" being presented by folks waving swastika-adorned flags at their "rally." Their ideas are summed up by their chants: "You will not replace us" and "Jews will not replace us." Old wine in new bottles.

WTF does the "majority of the public" have to do with anything? So you really want to live in a society governed by mob rule???

I thought libs were all about free speech and protecting the rights of those that the disagree with "majority"

There is a very distinct reason for this.

Which fourth-rate propaganda website is running that story? Check actual news sources regarding the guy who's been charged...James Alex Fields...nothing "ANTIFA" about him. Just an angry loser who got kicked out of the Army in boot camp and known as "really bought into this white supremacist thing. He was very big into Nazism. He really had a fondness for Adolf Hitler."

...available video shows Fields present at the UTR event with members of Vanguard America, a racist right-wing organization that helped Kessler organize the event...

Vanguard America, meanwhile, has issued a statement saying that even though he is shown carrying one of their "shields," he wasn't an "official member"..."The shields were freely handed out to anyone in attendance." lol

It has everything to do with it. It's called democracy. The majority has repeatedly rejected the cause of fascist and racist groups in this country. They can march dressed up like Nazis and hold rallies as any other group, but unless the 13th Amendment, the Civil Rights Act, and a bunch of other laws are reversed by the will of the majority of Americans, they're just whistling in the wind. They lost this cause long ago.

So if the majority thinks one way, it has a "right" to force their opinion on the minority?

I'm lost. Who are the Nazis here?

This whole thing is getting out of hand

Even the NYT is noting that militant leftists groups were basically given the red carpet into Charlottesville and police stood down - and let them attack the protesters. Protesters by the way that had their permits pulled mid stride and were basically released into the mob. Also this was just another in a series of building conflicts and was orchestrated by allowing these groups to come together unhindered.

I guess if you're a white nationalist you have no right to protest and the local authorities will just open the gates and let you get attacked? This only reinforces their message. What do they think is going to happen at the next event?

It's laughable that the message from this is how Trump has emboldened white supremacy groups - while Antifa and BLM are basically moving around the country attacking whomever they please while while law enforcement stands by and watches.

This is only going to get worse.

It's called mob rule.So if the "majority" believes in
segregation or "separate but equal" that's OK?

We're a Republic BTW,thank God.

If you're a white supremacist, you absolutely have the right to protest, but you don't have the right to protection from a well deserved arse beating.
