I'm curious.... if you worked for a newspaper and had 300 or so words to report on what happened at this event, what would you say? Not just you Jefferson... everyone.

Nope. It was a gradual emancipation. A law that no new slaves could be purchased anymore. But that any current slaves would remain slaves until their death. And that only the offspring of those current slaves would be freed. Eventually. But, only after a certain age. So that the owner could get as much work out of them as possible. And to soften the financial blow.
Sadly though, decades later, when the time came for these offspring to be freed, what did many of the yankee slavers do? Well, rather than take a loss and have to live side by side with them, they just traveled over to northern states where slavery was still legal...... and sold them back in to permanent bondage right before their emancipation birthday.

Yep. It was a free-for all. Surprised it didn't get even uglier.
The counter-protestors were allowed to block the entrances of the park as the rally people were arriving. Then, when they had all arrived to the rally, and five minutes before it was set to start, it was declared an unlawful gathering. And then the rally people were forced back out of the park by cops in riot gear, directly back into the counter-protestor rioter bat, fist and mace gauntlet.
Hitler boy was the only one in the dodge, but he's not the only one with blood on his hands for what happened.
Somebody wanted this to happen.

Question: How did hitler boy in his dodge down at the street level know where the large gathering of counter-protestors were located?
How did he pull up to that street and know that it wasn't mixed with protestors AND counter-protestors? Like all the other crowds on the streets seemed to be.
