Huh?No matter who the new head coach is we'll be lucky to win 5 games next year. UNC,Missouri,AU and SC are a toss up at best.UT,UF and Ole Miss will be solid losses.

If we make a change its gonna get much worse before it gets better.

Lucky to win 5? They said that about UF this year. I don't agree with your take, but if true, holy crap has Richt screwed this thing up, and you trust him to fix his mess? He wouldnt be our coach if we have a season that bad, so we might as well give a new guy a shot now to build this thing up.

The problem with our situation is, it is known that Richt seat's getting warmer. Some of these recruits who are torn between two schools...thats the nail in the coffin.

I honestly would be surprised if we get half of the targets we have left on the board strictly because instability of the coaching staff.

True or not, doesn't matter. Where there is smoke, there is fire and something is going on at UGA.

I think we see how the rest of this season plays out in terms of keeping Richt, but I think the damage has been done to our recruiting efforts already.

Sure looked like a mess in 06 and 2010 and Richt cleaned this up himself during those times. Why is this different? And this isn't even close to as bad as 2010 was. We were 1-4 at one point! We're 5-3, calm down people

It makes me worry that the instability in the coaching situation is more detrimental to recruiting than flushing the whole thing and making sa competent hire who can build the program back before it's all burned to the ground.

Its different because patience is now completely worn thin, which leads to way too much negativity around the program, and there are no recent championships to celebrate.

The question from the OP is flawed. There is nothing that says you cannot get a new coach and still have a great recruiting class.

And as Spurrier once put it ... Georgia gets all these great players and I just don't know what happens to them. How many times in Georgia's recent past has a top ten recruiting class lead to a team finishing with a Top 10 Ranking?

We get top 10 recruiting classes every year but hardly ever finish in the top 10 in rankings! It certainly can't have anything to do with coaching, development or systems, could it?

Welcome to the board. Looks like you will fit in well with the rest of the new talent here.

Thanks. I have been lurking for years and finally decided to join and share my opinion ... for what it's worth.

Finished top ten twice from 2009-2015 and unranked twice.

Not a good ratio.

you guys that don't like newbies are hypocritical. You cannot stand change or new ideas, but you scream for greg mcgarity to do that exact thing.

The question is flawed in your opinion. A lot of recruits commit to the coaches and not the school (USCw and Steve Sarkisian). You are right, Dawgs get a top 10 recruiting class almost every year and if I'm not mistaken finished the season in the top 10 a few times. Only once that I can remember UGA having a recruiting class with this potential. Something to think about.

I made my comment because he was wrong. It was a happy coincidence that it was his first post.

From 2001-2014, we have had 12 top ten recruiting classes. We have had 7 teams finish in the top 10 of the final rankings. Does his comment sound accurate to you?

Just because you have x number of posts doesn't make your opinion more valid than anyone else. In fact, in my years of posting on many message boards, I have learned that some of the more frequent posters happen to also be some of the dumbest posters. So if you truly think the number of posts equates to intelligence or objectivity, you might want to remove your head from your arse.

read the above post. if you post inaccurate shite, you're gonna get called on it. If you post inaccurate shite and it's your first post here, you're gonna get called on it.

The bottom line is don't post stupid shite.

You should consider, though, that many of the other nine teams in front of us most years were also from the SEC. The majority of the teams recruiting the better talent are the teams we actually play.

We used to finish top ten often. We don't anymore.

I said recent years. No one in their right mind would argue against Richt's performance in the early 00's. In three of the past 6 years we have finished unranked. This year will most likely make it 4 out of 7. In 2011 we finished ranked 18th.

So most likely there will be only 2 top 10, 3 top 20 rankings for Georgia in the past 7 years. Is that acceptable to you?
