Currently sitting at #7 on 247 Composite with a few big names in the hat. Derrick Brown, Isaac Nauta, Kyle Davis, Necole Hardman, Demetris Robertson, E.J. Price, Shyheim Carter, Devwah Whaley, Marquez Callaway and Brian Burns among others. If the coaching staff patch shite up the Dawgs should get a few if not a majority of those recruits. I for one would rather keep Richt onboard and put Shotty on the plank. This kind of recruiting class has the potential to put this program where it should be no matter who is coaching.

I would rather a new coach and a top 10 class vs the same coach and a top 3 class.

I have to feel like our recruiting class has already been damaged over the last few weeks to some extent.

Assuming that it's a dream team that actually lives up to the billing on the field.

But yeah...IF those key guys pan out - Eason, Cleveland, Rochester, Tyler Clark, Davis, Hollyfield...and we were to wind up with Hardman, Derek Brown, Nauta, Kyle Davis..etc. - it would definitely be a very high impact class.

I think so as well. I believe a clean start would really give us a boost over this toxic time.

If Richt leaves or is fired we will probably slip to around 15 or maybe lower. We will lose all chances of most that have not committed, and will lose some that have already committed.

That said, even if he stays I suspect we might lose some because of the turnoil on the staff right now. Some of the defensive recruits will bil if Pruitt leaves, too. AND, there is not gaurantee that we get a top 3 or even 10 class if nothing changes.

In short, what has happened this year is a worst case scenario for recruiting.....and I blame some if not most on our own fanbase. Rumors of turmoil and in fighting is a killer for any program. Uncertainty is a killer. When a coach has to tweet that everything is fine...and news organizations begin addressing unfounded rumors, it is bad news and bad press. Just look at this board with all the rumors that have been repeated. Why would any recruit want to come here....or for that matter, why would any top head coach candidate?

This...only not in the way that many on here think. It hasn't been damaged by the performance on the field. It has been damaged by all the rumors of infighting. No recruit or HC candidate worth their salt would want to come into the middle of something like that.

New Head Coach or Top 3 Recruiting Class

The easy answer is a new Head Coach. On paper the remaining targets look outstanding, but we’ve had some really good classes in the past all for not. Richt is a good coach, but a recruiting class isn’t going to save this program.

If we do keep Richt and he closes out strongly, I still think it’s unrealistic that UGA will make a splash next year with underclassman at important positions and a freshman QB. Do we have the patience to put up with a 8-4 season under Richt or a new head coach?

Again you have no idea how much of an impact Richt leaving would have. Would we lose recruits? Absolutely. Some kids just want to play for a certain guy. How do you know his replacement isn't a better recruiter than he is? How do you know that the next guy couldn't salvage the class? Maybe the next guy is just flat out better at working with the talent that he has than Richt.

I do respect what you are saying, but Richt's time in Athens is over. It's time for everyone to accept that. Everything that has gone wrong, whether it's his fault or not, falls squarely on his shoulders. You can only chalk things up to bad luck for so long.

That being said I would rather have a new head coach.

Currently GA has the 6th most players in the NFL. We've have seen the on field results with most of these players over the last 8-10 years. What makes anyone think Richt will field a better team with a top 3 class?

Life, you are the ultimate Richt Disney. I admire you for it, but I believe you are wrong. Back in the old days whatever coach or team coordinator I had worked to make me a better runner. Those guys weren't there to save my soul or make me a better person --nor did I want them to. My soul is my business. All I wanted was to get faster, race more effectively, and I expected those guys to work with me to make those goals happen. Why would college ball be different?

We can either get another great class and watch this staff do nothing with it or we can get a new coach, potentially have close to the same caliber of class and then at least have hope that it turns into more than a trip to Orlando.

No reason whatsoever to let a bunch of 17 year old kids determine our coaches fate because every year we are going to have this same situation. A great class, an unreal prospect, or something that we want to wait for. There is no point in holding off for them because they'll always be there.

8-4 season with under CMR or a new head coach

Huh?No matter who the new head coach is we'll be lucky to win 5 games next year. UNC,Missouri,AU and SC are a toss up at best.UT,UF and Ole Miss will be solid losses.

If we make a change its gonna get much worse before it gets better.

You know this how?You have no idea if we're gonna have a new HC and who that new HC will be.

Things always get worse before they get better. That's just part of the healing process.

Didn't say it was a fact. Thing is, it's going to be a bumpy road regardless of what happens. 2016 ain't going to be all that grand. If an inspiring hire is made then why would we expect every recruit to jump ship? New coaches have saved classes before or at least stopped the bleeding.

Hell, who's to say we don't get other recruits who saw UGA and said "nah, rather win championships"

If we hire a good recruiter, we will stay on the top 10.

Agree its a worst case, but You point your finger in the wrong direction. Why are the fans angry? Because of Richt. This is on him and only him.
