Can't fault them for firing Miles but he deserved to finish out the year. Nothing good will come from firing him mid-season.

Nothing good for LSU I meant. Great news for all other teams in the conference from a recruiting perspective.

An early season firing.... weird.

Based on the threads on this board, I thought we were the dumpster fire.

If Smart sucks so bad, and it's so evident we should have kept Richt, why would LSU be making the same mistake?

Seems like they aren't going to hire a replacement too quickly, but want to get their raffle ticket into the wheel early for the late season carousel.

Maybe he get together with BVG and do some hunting this fall.
No doubt he gets the pink slip tomorrow after losing to Duke.

That's some cold blooded shite right there. The guy at USC who coached while blackout drunk even made it all the way to October last year at least..

New head coach better go undefeated in 2017. That's apparently the standard first year coaches are held to by some.

Someone mentioned this in another thread, but I believe that CFB HC'ing is a bubble about to burst. Programs are paying millions of dollars in salaries and fan bases are expecting results. Since every program can't win every division, there's going to be a carousel of hires and fires, especially in the SEC. I don't know what the result will be of all of this, but I don't think it'll be good for the sport.

Every SEC program has now turned over at least once since Saban set foot in Tuscaloosa.
