A transition won't be smooth but the cupboard isn't completely bare for whoever comes in. I doubt we get Kelly either. We will stay pro style.

Finished in the top 10 2 outta of the last 4 years.More top 10's and bowl victories than Dooley had in 25 years.

You think for 1 second we sniff a top 10 in the next 3 years?

Recruiting is going to take a hit. It just is.

You would think. However, I suspect Richt's tour of the recruits was telling them what is going on and asking them to stay with the program. When he was satisfied, I think he decided to leave. We may not take as big a hit as I thought we would. Now, we may not get some of the recruits thta were on the fence....but there were no guarantees either way with them, right?

Hopefully his recent recruiting visits was him letting everyone know the deal.

I think you nailed it here. Speaks a little more to his character, too. It could not have been easy for him to do.

If the right hire is made, absolutely. Look at Florida, hell look at Houston. It's not always like Tennessee and Texas.

If McGarity gets Mullen, I will not be happy at all. I don't have clear thoughts on this whole thing yet, but I can tell you Mullen is not who I want.

Actually, I would love Charlie Strong here at UGA. I think he would be a great fit. He was always going to have an uphill battle with Texas. No one in that state can deal with a guy that doesn't playboy their rules

More often than not, it is like Florida and Tennessee and Texas....a long struggle. And let's not crown McElwaine king, just yet. He's been here one year. Muschamp had a good year, too. We want know about any of these for 3-4 years.

Well if I am looking at Lambert under center next year, I am going to start vomiting.

Yeah, Charlie Strong is a great coach who has gotten exactly zero support from his administration at Texas. I would absolutely take him. You guys just want a shiny new toy.

Charlie's biggest issue is that he doesn't adjust for being at a big job like Texas, and he wouldn't here at Georgia either IMO. He's a great player developer, but he's best suited for a job like Miami where he can excel with recruiting classes ranked right around 25th. His class at Texas right now is ranked 50th. That's embarrassingly awful for one of the highest profile programs in the nation.

I agree with dallas. Don't panic, yet. I'm sure they've been in contact with most of the major recruits. Niebur is bad. REALLY bad. Take his CB's with a grain of salt. He reacted to Richt's getting fired. Let's wait until we see who is hired before we throw in the towel. I am more worried about Mecole, Robertson, Willie Aiken etc.

I feel really sad about this he's a good coach and a great man, but this is how football works. I wish him the best and thank him for his years of service at UGA.

Hope we can get someone good in to replace him.

Chances we would go after a guy like Jimbo Fisher? I think hell would sooner freeze over but you never know.
