Just got back to my hotel. Quickly some takeaways from watching live....

Gotta start with Lambert. Dude was an absolute beast tonight. Played well within the pocket, used his feet well to avoid pressure and to gain yards, can't recall a single throw that wasn't exactly where it needed to be and how it needed to be there.

Sony is fast. Like really really really fast. He might be the best player on the team, due to the versatile ways he lets us attack defense.

Chubb is Chubb. He's just amazing. The biggest thing that has me grinning from ear to ear is the run defense. It was so fricking awesome to see us get stops in short yard situations. Watching this team live makes me feel like I'm watching a national title contending team. Hope everyone else is having a good night! It's a great night to be a dawg.

At one point or remember thinking "damn...Chubb isn't really busting loose tonight" and then I checked the stats and he had like 120 yds or something.

Two seven has sneaky production...

I'm feeling really good about this team but I don't want to get too excited just yet. There's still a long road ahead. I am feeling a little better about the match up with Bama, though.

FWIW, Reggie Carter and Rico McGraw did not play tonight due to minor injuries.

With the amount of freshman playing and growing, I'm really excited about this defense.

Pruitt and Schotty going to be a good combo.

If Lamby can steadily play like he did tonight we will be very hard for anyone to beat.

Even when our defense plays bad it's hard for frickers to score 40 or 50 to beat us. The running and intermediate pass game is impossible to defend when Malcolm or Sony can sneak out deep and it eats clock.

Bama D-Line is tough on the inside run but shaky on the outside. Their secondary is average at best. Watching them getting beat by Ole Miss right now and they can't stop the intermediate passing game. Bama looks very beatable by a good team that doesn't make mistakes.

Well, yeah, of course. If he can consistently complete 96% of his passes, we'll be dangerous.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The video board wasn't updating his stats and I was wondering if he had 100 yet at the end of the game.

Schotty called a great game. First time in a while I felt like there wasn't a "what was he thinking" or " why did we stop doing what was working" or "why did we get conservative all of the sudden" moment

Pruitt too, spurrier called a few great series on offense and then Pruitt made adjustments and shut it down. Adjustments! Long season ahead but just a great day to be a dawg fan. No room for nega dawg today.
