I think this will be Mark Richt's worst loss ever to the nerds. Their defense is bottom half of the ACC, so we should get at least two offensive touchdowns, maybe even more. But they may never have to punt against Kirb..., I mean Mark's, passive defensive scheme.

Based on the way this year has gone, I'd expect a close game where we have a few chances to pull away but don't capitalize on it. We win but the game comes down to the wire.

Yep, the defense that played vs ULL yesterday will not win vs GT though granted we played some subs at the end of that game. The Cajuns had more first downs, more rushing yards and more passing yards than did our dawgs. What killed them was TO's and 2 big plays by McKenzie. LINK

Grantham and Pruitt had us ill-prepared the first time each faced Tech. That has me very nervous (the offense can give even good DCs fits the first time they try to prepare a young defense for it). Those are schematic and practice issues.

As did martinez when we first saw it in 08. As good as our defense is I'm usually leery of first year coordinators trying to defend the to.

Kirby did and Tucker did well against Auburn. I think they'll do alright against Tech. If the offense can score more 14 I think the good guys win. frick tech.

Big plays vs long drives
You can make the argument to allow 3 or 4 yards on the dive and play assignment football ... I'm pretty sure Kirby is gonna go this route

It's going to be a tough game...I haven't watched Tech much this year but the option is always hard to stop. We should win this game but it is a tossup in my opinion. How is Tech's defense? Our offense worries me more than our defense. If we can find a way to score 20-24 points I think we will win.

IMO this has to be the best game of the season for Trent Thompson. He needs to consistently blow up the middle of the offense line and destroy the dive play by himself. Do that and it'll be a loooong day for the nerds

Lets hope he gets out the '14 film...we got killed on the dive all game long.You cannot allow it to succeed.

I'm totally worried about this game.... I am not sure if Kirby has put the importance of practicing for the option as a priority like Richt did... Richt purposely would start practicing for Tech in the preseason... that offense is so rare to see these days...
Then again.... Kirby is a defensive mind.... So hopefully they can get the kids ready asap...
