Name the SEC HC who consistently wins with good talent rather than elite talent.

Ah...define consistently . That's the rub.

I prefer to look at the coaches that exceed the expectations given the talent that they have. Given that, I'd say Mullen for sure. Other than that, no one really exceed the expectations. We expect Vandy to be horrible, etc. There are quite a few SEC coaches that do not meet expectations given the talent that they have, and Richt is on that list.

He just beat Arkansas who had easily been the most improved team this year. Hell I think Bert would be a good coach for Georgia. The personnel we have fit his offense and he has a good offensive line every year.

Yea, well, we don't have many #1 QB recruits on our roster. So let's chill until he and the rest get here. Then, when the '16 season starts developing, we can talk about CMR's future. This is not the time.

Coward statement.

Id rather have superior coaching than superior talent...

I was unsure about Mullen, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for the guy. What he has been able to do at Mississippi State and Dak Prescott is miraculous.

, so the most important part. Would love to see that line used for one of Richt's close losses.

he has won 10 games or more, once in his career. No Conference championships. His offense would handcuff us in recruiting elite RB. And his offense hurts his defenses tremendously. Plus, he has had issues with anger and blow-ups.

If you want to get rid of Richt, thats fine. I'm for it we can find someone better. Mike Leach is nowhere near being that guy though.

Not to mention we don't want to run that type of offense.

You mean Nick Saban in 2008? I don't know if you remember. They came to Athens with mostly mediocre talent and beat the ever living shite out of us. The two elite players on that squad were true freshman.

It might be but we're in a pretty tight spot. Its not just the QB situation but we have to have a solid class becuase '13 was a complete nightmare.

Id feel much better with a new coach if he inherits 3 strong classes

There will always, and I mean always, be a reason to keep Richt. Be it an elite recruit, need for more talent for the next guy, him rolling off wins vs teams with no pulse, a tough coaching market.

It doesn't matter, this program is going to get worse before it gets better. The question is do you want to begin the rebuild now or procrastinate? Because at this point those who actually think Richt will win it all are non existent and we all know his end is inevitable. So what are we waiting for? What more proof is needed?

You have no idea of how horrible WSU had been historically up until the day Leach took over, do you wayx? They were terrible. TERRIBLE. Anyone who knows anything about the historical ineptness of that school would praise the job Leach has done as miraculous.

I'll challenge you to find one pundit out there that would say otherwise at this point. He is 8-3, ranked (and will move into the top 20 today), beat Oregon, Arizona, Arizona St, and UCLA, and lost to Stanford on a FG miss in the final seconds.

It's safe to say that Leach has turned the corner with that program. It's a goddamn miracle, and everyone except butt hurt Mark Richt fans are amazed. Now, he won't win any championships at WSU (sub-par facilities, poor recruiting power, no money, etc), which is why many people feel that Leach should be in play for traditional powers looking for a head coach.

Talk shite about Portland State all you want. Fact is, the talent gap between Portland State and WSU is infinitesimal when compared to that gap between Georgia Southern and UGA.

Don't hate in ignorance, and don't act the fool without knowing something about it.

Do you really want to go there? Without thinking, SEC 2012 Championship Game. Ring a bell?

Hell, I even said it.

I'm not going to speak on the bullshite spewed by the James Gang, but as to the wins and championships, you are correct. That said, his two gigs as HC have been at traditional NON POWERS, and turned both of them into players, if not contenders. He had TTU ranked #2 in the goddamn country.

Wow.

But keep hanging that hat on Portland State. It makes St. Mark look even fricking dumber than he is.

Who is "we", and why don't you? I'd like to know why that record breaking offense is automatically off the table?

This is a serious inquiry.

I may be completely wrong about his offense, I haven't watched Wazzu play much since Leach got there but if his offensive line has the huge gaps between them that they had when he was at Texas Tech it works get ugly. It got ugly for him at TTU when they played a team with a good defensive front. I'm sure he can adapt his scheme a little to make it somewhat more successful but Mullen has actually proved he can field an offense in the West. If Mullen had a DC like Pruitt Georgia would be something to behold. They were actually really stout on defense the first time Diaz was the DC there, I'm not sure what happened.

Eason's already been annointed the messiah. We need more than two rocky years and two good years from him. Because of both the hype and the situation, that kid is going to have a world of pressure on him, unfortunately.

Well, we already had one record-breaking offense that didn't win us anything. Not sure we want to risk that again.

I don't think that pressure is a negative for young athletes. In my experience, nerves are more of a problem for the older guys. I follow individual sports like golf and tennis where the young do amazing things. Eason can succeed if he has good line play with a quick strike passing game.
