I sincerely hope he didn't leave because of a girl. I'm hoping it was some other reason and that everything will be good with him and his family and he will find happiness somewhere else... because two years from now he won't be able to look himself in the mirror if he blew an opportunity like this because he missed seeing another person evary day. And he won't be able to look at that girl the same if she let him give it up for her. We'll likely never know and that's for the best. People's issues should remain their own.

You would be surprised how many kids this happens to. Most have parents who talk them out of it. It is pretty scary being a freshman football player the first few weeks especially. The older dudes can be intimidating. This kid does not have the life experience to know this is the wrong decision.

I can name 2 guys who quit and came back to the team who were far from pussies. They just were not mature and had never been outside of their safety net. One guy did in fact knock up his gf. He came back, it never made the news. He was a 3 year starter for us at a high profile position. And he could still kick every one of your asses
