We can use that spot on this 2015 class. It seems to have better players in this one anyway.

That's awesome, and well above average.

The actual average, pre-new-normal, was more like $36k.

Minus what a person could make at a blue collar job having not gone to college, around $28k...

A degree is worth about $8k a year.

But that was when a bachelor's degree was still worth something...

Not so much today.

I think those numbers aren't very representative of the truth...because...a job or career doesn't just last 1 year after college...at least mine didn't..

plus...add in health insurance sharing by the employer, 401k, etc...and the actual job worth is even more..

36K,,,I will admit...that's a little low...unless it's in southwest georgia or somewhere similar...

I mean...I get what you are saying...but you also can't put a price on opportunity and you have to look at it as an investment..school affords you just that...the way I look at it..is that luckily we have freedom to research and choose what we major in...and I think that is important..

my CRNA graduate degree cost me roughly 150K with housing, etc...total...student loans....it almost equaled what I made my first year of working...but....it's a career investment...over the course of 10..even 20 years....I look at my ROI...and I'm happy..

To start, yea. But depending on who you work for, lack of degree can really hurt you. If you're a contractor it can prevent you from being a full time employee with benefits and PTO (I know Verizon, among others, has this policy in place). It can also hinder you from advancing in to management type positions. Again, it all depends on the company, but a degree opens a lot of doors.

California is in town. Apparently they dont know yet. They will know tomorrow. A wake of fire will burn through the BU because ive already decided i wont stay no matter what they offer me. Its for the best, theyll have to completely reorganize which they should have done two years ago. Its a shame it takes my departure to force this. Its christ-like in a way.

Say what now? Just found out about a week ago what it's gonna cost for my first year at UGA with hope and it's about 14k more than free.

Maybe don't spent $14,000 on rent. Try $3600.

And if the parking pass is too expensive, ride the bus.

Entitled little prick.

You would be surprised how many kids this happens to. Most have parents who talk them out of it. It is pretty scary being a freshman football player the first few weeks especially. The older dudes can be intimidating. This kid does not have the life experience to know this is the wrong decision.

True post right here. We had a walk-on leave after 2 days because he couldn't stand being away from home.

Very good post. If, I mean IF IF IF the reasons he's leaving are what people have been saying, then he's kind of an idiot. Like you said, he's too young at this point to realize how much he's going to be kicking himself just 10 years from now, likely even sooner than that.

I think it's still worth something.

I graduated this past year and upon graduation my bachelor's degree was worth 60k. And that's coming from the new college of engineering.

I think it all depends on what you do. Of course, a psychology degree isn't going to be worth crap. IMHO.

A person with a four year degree, on average, will make 1.5 million more during their career than a person who never attended college.
