Richt's and McGarity's fingerprints are all over this. Grantham was probably told to have his agent start shopping him around.....and in return UGA agreed to waive the contract penalty for making a lateral move or something like that.
This will be the first big hire under McGarity and this job is one of the top paying coordinator jobs in the country. I believe there is a plan for something big here.

Also, it could very well be promoting Olivadotti to DC. This could be really good or really bad. I'm not very optimistic and the timing of this is terrible in terms of recruiting!

I really think CKS could be taken from UA. Kiffin is going to turn that place into a shite-show behind the scenes. He'll do his best Eddie Haskell impression to Saban's face and will be causing trouble, especially with Smart, as he tries to brown-nose Satan. Every place Kiffin has been has ended up a hot mess. Kirby Smart may take a look into the future and not like what he sees and be open to new opportunities.

Bama 247 is saying its a very strong possibility. UGA willing to give him Head Coach in Waiting and rumors are that Richt will only coach for one or two more years. They expect Smart to give it a hard look.

If we get smart and give him HCIW status, then I don't think we see Bobo after this season. It's apparent at this point he's been sticking around for the head job.
Still, it's worth the risk.
