You should be. He completely turned the USC defense around this year. They were top 32 in the nation in every meaningful category after not being higher than 40th in any category the year before. His scheme is also very similar to what we currently run.

He was very good, they were the #1 total D and #2 scoring D in conference last year, even with that game. The ASU game was after the players had quit and you saw how bad that team can be when the players quit against GT in the bowl game.

Doesn't have nearly enough coaching experience imho. Definitely a guy to look for in future years though.

I like Pendergast based on what I know/have heard but why were his defenses at Cal so bad?
