Who here has been called for Jury duty? I get to report to Canton Court House bright and early Monday morning. I need some tried and true tips on getting out without being a full blown racist

When they ask the group questions, raise your hand every damn time.

Just that about all the people who died or were maimed so you can sit on a jury...

I had to do it. Just ended up being on call all week. Never had to do anything. And I got $20!

Go to jury selection dressed in a suit, looking very put together and very serious. Someone who the defense wouldn't want judging their client.

That would work too. You just have to make yourself appear to be a really unappealing jury candidate for one side or the other

tell the attys when asked that it's a good thing they called you, because you tell if somebody's guilty by simply looking at them..

glad to help..

Or tell them you have 3 brothers and 9 first cousins who are cops and you love them all dearly.

"I don't think cops ever lie"

"I think the whole legal system is corrupt"

"I think all drugs should be legal"

"I'm religious and think that we should forgive everyone and let God judge"

Tell the defense lawyer that his client must be guilty or the cops wouldn't have charged him. Worked every time I have tried.

I'm in Canton too, and I'm dreading the day I get a summons to jury duty. I have a business to run. Ain't nobody got time for this shite.

Answer the questions truthfully.

That's not a joke or a trick, but sensible advice.

Put it this way, if you ever get charged with a crime you didn't commit or get caught up in some sort of business dispute you have to pursue in court, do you really want the only people on your jury to be the folks that werent clever enough to avoid jury duty? Of course not.

Been called for jury duty twice. The first time was dismissed before I even had to report the second we were put in groups and the jury was picked before my group was even called in. Just go you probably won't get picked for a jury anyway.

When the Lawyer starts asking you questions all you have to do is tell him that you think every criminal deserves the same rights that they give the person that they perpetrate there crime against and that is none at all. You can forget about being on that jury. Good luck it worked for me.
